I am running Parallels V10 with Sierra, no difference with El Capitan, what Parallels said was that V10 would not be supported anymore.

I'm not excited at all. Haven't upgraded yet and thinking about going back to Windows after almost 10 years. Apple isn't what it used to be anymore.
Agreed, and Microsoft isn't the same as it used to be either. People appear to still be judging OS X and Windows based on how both of the operating systems USED to be 5 or 6 years ago (or more), but Windows is better than ever, and OS X is probably the worst it has ever been. In many ways, Apple and Microsoft have switched places. Personally, I use both, but at the moment what Apple is producing just doesn't impress me. Even worse is their attitude of greed and their highly questionable business practices.

the os is not boring is just that you are bored then you think is the os, there are some people like that. they don't find things interesting or exciting. me i'm all the opposite i aways try to find a way to entertain myself even if is talking to the ants or looking at them doing their work. lol
Poor you...

Did you search for it? It should be searchable worldwide ;).
Yeah it popped up a little later on my second look. Downloaded, installed and running great1

When will it be available in Canada?
It was available on the day. If you haven't found it its in the featured section of your app store under macOS sierra. Has been running like a charm on my MBp for over 2 days now. :)

worst update ever unless you also own an iphone, ipad or iwatch (or combination). Siri doesn't do it for me. Didn't work on an iphone, doesn't work on an mac.

I asked for direction to Brussels (live in Belgium). Got many repsonses such as local coffeshop, comic book, wafels, etc.
Asekd for directions to the Capital Brussels. Somehow mixed it with some kind of play
Then I asked directions to the Capital of Belgium. Well guess what. Directed me to Safari.

Google now on my nexus: no issue at all.

Installed Sierra, I am happy with the changes made I'd rather they focused more on fixing bugs and issues in the OS than adding to it or making major UI changes now. There is no need to change the UI it works just fine as it is.

I don't get it why people bother to do a clean install, I've been using OS X since 10.0 b and never reinstalled, always installed the new OS over the existing OS, had some bugs but they were always fixed, by myself or an update.

Point is, no need to do a clean install, it's not windows.
I agree. I've been with Mac since Tiger and have always just installed over existing versions and have not had any problems myself. I know sometimes other people do, but I think by and large, most don't encounter major issues.

When I was on Windows XP I would have to do fresh installs every time and sometimes once or twice a year just to clean things up.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but your logic is flawless. The update would be even more useless if I didn't own a Mac to begin with..

I do understand that for one who might not own anything Apple but their Mac, this update may seem somewhat lacklustre. But it's not like the update does not provide some really nice features for users embedded within the Apple ecosystem.

Complaining and pretending the update does not add jack all doesn't really make much sense. Just because the features does not apply to your use case doesn't make the update useless. There are a lot of Mac users that also owns iOS devices. I bet most Mac users do. If you take that into consideration, this update/upgrade makes perfect sense.

And it's not like there are no under-the-hood enhancements in MacOS Sierra as well. You will benefit from all the updates to to the kernel, drivers and whatnot even though you might not fancy any of the new features being available.

I think flawed was the word you were looking for . ;)

Mac OS and iOS have as much in common as Windows and iOS, in that regard the Apple ecosystem simply doesn't exist . iOS related features are superficial solutions at best, and can be covered by simple apps - while third party software and hardware compatibility is the most important feature in a computer OS .
Unless you don't use your Mac for work, but why would you comment if you weren't really invested in the platform?

Firmware updates and such can be handled without the disruptions caused by introducing a new OS every other day . Features , like another dozen ways to show the finder, another silly search function and another way to not be able to sync two Macs, or another way to show how incompatible Macs and iOS gadgets are - doesn't take a new OSX .

Considering there has been little significant change in Mac hardware since the switch to Intel , I'm still wondering why we can't just run an updated Snow Leopard, or at least Mavericks, on current Macs .
Maybe Apple, Adobe and such don't fancy people running old stuff and not buying new products, but what do I know .

Features, gadgets, come and go, basic functionality is where it's at .

I switched to Apple from Microsoft about 8 years ago and unfortunately I pretty much feel the same.

Public Beta Website is down

The more traditional AppleSeed pages are in "We'll be back" mode:
I guess that sooner or later, there will be Apple-hosted discussions for public beta testers. Hopefully available to the public, although screenshots of pre-release software may be discouraged.

Really wish they would either add a few critical apps from iOS for macOS like News and Home or at least allow it to emulate iOS so I can run those apps on my desktop.

A small thing that I just noticed: Finder finally has an option to sort directories on top before files. :) I always found the old behaviour confusing because I (have to) switch between Mac OS, Windows and various Linux file managers and everybody else puts the directories on top.

I'll second that. Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint work fine. This is Office 2011 for Mac.
So what you are saying is that the MICROSOFT software you have on your Mac can be relied on to keep working?

Oh how things have changed. It used to be that this kind of claim could be applied to APPLE software.
