The same thing happened with the Studio Display XDR. Rebooting the display fixed it for me.

I rebotted, but didn't see a difference. I updated to the latest version of Dell's Display and Peripheral Manager, and it worked (after a reboot). Thanks for the reply!

Anyone know what this really means, "it optimizes Spotlight for the release of macOS 27"? Are they saying they backported macOS 27 improvements to Spotlight back to macOS 26? Or are they indexing things better under macOS 26 so they don't have to be reindexed under macOS 27?

As MacOS has been reindexing all my data after every update and frankly every other reboot for the past 10+ years, I am trying to figure out what was actually changed in the current version that is somehow going to help the next.

I have no actual knowledge of it, but my assumption would be that it's creating the index macOS 27 needs so when you update it will Just Work(tm). Or it's like the APFS changeover where they're doing trial runs to make sure everything is working properly with everybody's actual data before the release. Or both.

Same on M1 Max this sucks. It does work on my 17 Pro Max running iOS 26.6 at least.

edit: Resetting dapp ata, logging out, clearing cache and rebooting solved the issue.

Yes I like Tahoe but my DSLR connected via an Elgato Cam Link seems to be dropping frames occasionally which never happened on Sequoia. I can't wait for Golden Gate.

I have the same issue but it’s not related to which macOS. Super PIA issue

I wonder what gives with wildly different update patch sizes. Both my M1 MBA and M4 MBA run 26.5.2 and M1 update size was ~5GB, while M4 was 14GB.

Spotlight (corespotlightd) chugging for the past couple hours 150 to 300% CPU (using 2-3 efficiency cores steady).
Gave a warning to our users to only do the update if CPU power or Battery life weren't going to be issues for a bit after the update was done.
Everything I've tried has worked fine.

if i didn't get an M5 Pro, i'd skip Tahoe

I had my M1 Pro on Sequoia till May when i sold it when i got my M5 Pro.

I lasted two months on Tahoe. Now i'm on golden gate

It should. Plenty of people are reporting they've successfully installed 26.6 on a variety of M1 Macbooks. My M1 Macbook Pro is running the latest developer beta of macOS 27 just fine, so I'm sure it would also run 26.6.

Yes. 26.6 drops support for the M4. It's in the release notes.

I hope you're being "ironic", since there's no mention in the release notes of 26.6 dropping support for the M4. It works on all M series chips.
