View attachment 2423348I have the new AirPods 4 w/ANC and I’m on a beta release and I wonder if the update will fix the graphic not showing up when I open the case nearby. When I tried to pair them the onscreen box opened up but there was no text or anything so I had to pair them using the Bluetooth menu in settings.
I have this same problem. I was on 18.1 beta 3 and it was working. I updated to beta4 and now I have the black screen like you. If you close and reopen a bunch of times then it will pop up but not consistently.

Separate thing for anyone. My firmware is 7A295 which doesn’t match the firmware listed in the articles. Close to the old firmware but way off from the new one. I am in Canada so I’m wondering if that makes a difference

Software update finally came through and a drastic difference in quality. It’s good now.

Ok so have spent today with my APP2 updated to 7A304. I don't like it.

OFF sounds like having cheap ear plugs in.

TRANSPARANCY working as expected.

ADAPTIVE now becomes like Transparency. Prior it was full ANC until I spoke for example, then now entirely gone.

NOISE CANCELLATION tyres of cars have become louder. A pedestrian walking past speaking on their phone wasn't suppressed at all, as was the case when I had 6F8.

Music wise I find the mid bass a tad overly strong and the highs shrilly. I know others have complemented the change as having opened up those highs.

I don't know what's happening with Adaptive quite honestly as it seems (for me) quite broken and acting like the Transparency mode.

So I've already posted my experience with this latest update and one of the confusing points for me was that there's now no discernible difference between Adaptive and Transparency.

But a greater observation is that even Noise Cancellation now switches to Adaptive when the wearer speaks and this I find even more confusing as that was supposed to be the sole role of Adaptive. I also don't understand that Apple has gone this route and not left it up to the individual to lock this in place, after all there is already a dedicated option for this.

I do find that Adaptive (and obviously Noise cancellation now) are more aware of spoken content and impervious if the wearer is coughing, clearing the throat, etc.

I just don't get it!

I got mine delivered on the launch day. Dint notice much difference in the sound quality after the update but the battery life kinda improved a bit.

Aside, the issue you are facing with graphical pop up in Beta 3 is now fixed with the Beta 4 update.

Also, while using the magsafe charger, does the light on the case stay on continuously or automatically turns off after 3-5 sec interval?

My Pro 2s still have not gotten the new firmware. I continue to hate the way Apple handles firmware for the AirPods.

has anyone tried find my with the AirPods 4? I had a hell of an experience yesterday but can you try find my and play a sound and see if the case will play the sound. I am only getting the AirPods to play the sound. The case on its own won’t play anything and can’t be found on its own on find my.

Yesterday I lost my charging case. Tried find my only for it to say the pairing wasn’t completed fully which is weird to me. Called the 2 Ubers and they didn’t find it. Searched everywhere. Decided to walk back to work and thank god I ended up finding it. I deleted the AirPods from my apple account and tried to pair it again and still wouldn’t complete successfully. I deleted again and tried to connect to my iPad Pro 2nd gen, then iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone X and it wouldn’t find any of those devices. It would only connect to my iPhone 15 pro max.

I called apple support and we went through all the steps of sharing screen etc and they couldn’t figure it out either. Finally when we were about to give up after trying to pair it over and over, it started to connect and I was able to pair it to my ipad which completed the pairing process successfully and I can now see it in find my.

But as I said at the beginning, charging case won’t play a sound and only the AirPods themselves can be found in find my not the case

I was on beta 4 beta 5 did the same thing but it seems to be fixed now after a few days and new pairing.

I never use the Apple Watch charger thing but just tried and the light turned off after a few secs. That said my AirPods were already fully charged. Not sure if that plays a part

The charging light turns off after couple of seconds when charged using the MagSafe & apple watch charger. Also, you have to align the case perfectly on the charger (truly missing the built in MagSafe support)

Do you have a sound when closing the AirPods 4 ANC case? Until recently, I had a sound when I closed the box.

I have APP2 but interesting observation. From memory there used to be a chime when the buds would start charging, immediately when put in the case. I was on 100%, used them a bit just now and...no chime.

How can I find out when the latest firmware update was released? (7A304) Because if it was released 2-3 days ago, then the problem is with it. Until 2-3 days ago there was a sound when I closed the box.

Build 305 was released 26th September.

It turned out not to be a problem. It’s a battery notification sound. When the case reach’s 40% that sound will play.
Tbh I don't use mine enough to see a pattern but I'll watch out for it once dropping below 40% charge. Thank you for replying with this resolution.
