Curious if anyone has had issues with the ANC in the airpods pro 2's in general since they got them. I can only compare them to my old beats studios but when I have ANC on while on the subway they make me feel nauseous and a bit of a headache. The beats when I first got them used to give me headaches after awhile but don't recall getting the nauseous feeling.
Same here. The 2's seem to have had improved noise-cancellation (meaning, more effective) but in places like the subway, I also got a vaguely queasy feeling and would turn it off intermittently. Will be interested to see if anything changes with the update.

I think Apple forgot to update the older AirPods models. They have been being tested for a long time.

Who wants to test the new firmware first...oh...wait..dam...but I didn't press.....

Has anyone managed to update their APP2 to the new firmware? Mine won’t update.
I have mine plugged in right next to me. Out of nowhere the case chimed as if the case had just been plugged in. Sure enough, the update completed.

The drift was so intermittent it's hard to tell if anything has been fixed. ANC seems exactly the same, but again, it's hard to tell with just a minute or so of testing.

Thanks for replying. I have mine plugged in as well so we’ll see. Apple should copy the way you can manually update your HomePods and add it to the AirPods Pro.

You can't force the update. Plug in the case, and let them be for a bit. Open the case occasionally and check the FW version under Settings. That's pretty much all you can do. Eventually, they'll update. Might take 10 minutes, might take 45.
Lol, they’ve just been updated. No chime though.

Thank god, I have been so disappointed with my AirPods Pro 2 had countless issues with them not connecting, not switching over to the phone when I get a call, Siri just stops working and worst the left AirPods just refuses to connect at times without you putting it in the case opening it and the pop up showing on the screen.

Thankfully the sound is amazing and so is transparency but the usability for me has been awful coming from AirPods 2 that have worked flawlessly since I got them.

Have you installed the new firmware? Have you read articles indicating this new firmware is the disaster you are indicating? Or are you just playing games with people? I returned the first pair I ordered, hoping to buy again if some of the issues are fixed. But you are indicating that it's worse now, so I shouldn't buy. Should I listen to you guys? Can I trust your comments? Thanks.
You shouldn't trust the internet.

the new chime feature on the airpods pro 2 comes in nice 👌🏽… i plugged it in through my charger waited literally 2 min and it chimed next thing you know it’s updated … i love the new chime feature ! finally i can know that it gets updated 😜

Just updated all sounds the same to me I’ll have to test it to see if the audio drifting bug is fixed

I'm taking the piss. I have no idea what's changed with this firmware update.
Wow. So the comment wasn't helpful, and in fact was misleading. I'm trying to understand the nature/function of these threads. It appears useful information and honest discussion isn't it. What is it then?

I returned my Pro 2 because of all the problems. I'd be willing to buy them again if the problems were fixed. But how do I determine if anything was fixed when there is so many unsubstantiated comments?

Thanks.

A nice new feature for AirPods Pro 2 is I can see its charge levels (on my iPhone 14 Pro Max) even when it is not being used and the case is closed. Hip hip hooray 🍟
