Which charger are you using? I am using Apple's own chargers (e.g., Apple Watch, MagSafe Duo, and MagSafe Charger), and it never gets more than mildly warm. And even that happens only once in awhile.

Hopefully, this will finally fix the audio dropout issue.
Wait…you‘re using an Apple Watch charger for the Airpods? Why does this not work on mine…

Yes. Normal process. Open the case. Place next to the iPhone. Close the pop-up. Go to Settings. See the AirPods Pro 2 at the top of settings. Click and scroll to see the version. Close Settings. Close the case. Leave it next to the iPhone for ~20 minutes. Open the AirPods Pro 2 case again and go through to Settings again and see that has updated to 6B32.
That worked perfectly! My brand-new AirPods Pro 2 were on the prior version and I followed your steps and sure enough, 20 minutes later, both the AirPods Pro 2 and the case are now on the latest firmware. Thanks!

Third? When did you buy your Airpods? Last month?
Looks like firmware for AirPods Pro 2 was released once in November 2022, September 2023, and now today. There might have been other dates.

Improvements of note on APP2's

1) The occlusion effect that was greatly reduced in transparency mode but wasn't reduced as much in adaptive mode is now reduced in adaptive mode. I suspect this means that adapative mode will now cancel bass frequency better. Previous measurements (https://www.0db.kr/) had shown adaptive mode didn't have as strong bass ANC. You can verify that by humming and toggling modes. Previously your humming wouldn't be cancelled as strongly in adaptive mode.

2) Switching between modes is now more seamless (ANC//spatial audio modes). There's only a slight microsecond delay you can hear.

Apple continues to impress me with their audio division. They are actually bothering to deliver truly ground breaking products for mass consumption here. As an audio nerd with a giant 7.1.4 Kef R series speakers/SVS subwoofer home theater I love how I can use my Apple TV as a silent cinema and now feel like I'm missing up.

I just wish they would let some customisation creep in so I can select the Apple TV's virtual room for spatial audio on the iphone. It sounds much more like listening to real loud speakers in a real room. Infuse lets you do that, but you can't stream audio only files that way.

Really strange, AirPods updated to 6B32, case downgraded to 54.26.1 from 60.83.0

Anyone else experienced this?

Update: got sorted out after a couple of hours. All good!

My case one time is on 54.26.1, in the next couple of minutes is on 61.3.0 and in the next half hour is back to 54.26.1 and again and again😂 I’m in loop from 54.26.1 FW🙂

I wish they could fix how damn hot the AirPods get when wireless charging. They get so warm I don't want to charge wirelessly because I'm afraid the heat is hurting the batteries.

I don't know if this is something that software can fix though.
Mine do this to on a MagSafe charger. I make extra sure now I don't charge AirPods when I know I will be distracted and forget to take them off the charger after a while because they get that hot.

My AirPods Pro 2’s have been spontaneously dropping Transparency mode & resetting custom audio settings since iOS 17 came out … with each of these frequent AirPod firmware update I’ve hoped for this bug fix. I’m hoping again right now 🤣
On macOS, all my audio customizations reset every time I connect AirPods. The LR balance is the most annoying because I have it set to compensate for left-sided hearing loss and I have to re-balance every time. This started when I got an M2 MBP on macOS 14 and upgraded to the USB-C APP 2nd Gen, so I'm not sure which side the bug lies.

I’ve disabled it. Every time I connected a different level was set. Annoying to get back to my favorite 58% level

Edit: sorry I meant personalize audio
I disabled personalized audio after a couple days. Every time I would connect to my Mac the volume was too low to hear anything and I'd have to constantly adjust volume every time my media source changed.

Wonder if they are ever going to fix the overly loud “read notifications” on the APP2? This update does not fix it.
This caused physical pain in my ears with a lingering ringing because it was so loud. I had to turn up the volume to compensate for the issue above, so I think that might have made it even worse.

So, we own three AirPods Pro (gen2) in the family and after iOS 17, every time you put them in your ears, the volume is as low is it gets. It looks like it resets to its lowest volumen every time you put them on. It’s super annoying bc you can’t hear a thing until you raise the volume. Is somebody also having this issue?

finally fixed the annoying issue where i had to have my iPhone screen turned on and unlocked when putting my airpods in for audio to be sent to the airpods and not iphone speakers lol.

even though i heard the connection sound after i'd put them in music would play from the phone. it caused a few awkward situations having my music blasting in public. i'm not that kind of person. i had to make sure the screen was on or before playing music manually route the audio to the airpods.

So since my AirPods Pro 2's received the latest Firmware update i felt like today on my walk when playing music it sounded a lot less louder.
Normally i have the volume around between 45-50% mark and it sounds decently loud. Played the same album today and i had to put it up to around 75% the volume bar and it sort of still didnt sound as loud as a few days ago when i went on my walk.

Anyone else find the same issue or maybe i just had a weird day???
