I used to be pretty happy with these after I bought them a year ago. But I'm convinced that they block a lot less street noise than they did when I got them. I had assumed that this was just my perception, but now I've become convinced that they just aren't working as well after a year. I had hoped that this firmware might help, but seems no better.

Anybody else experiencing this? Or is it just me?

Mine haven’t auto updated since 6A301 :-/
Weird.
Use an authorized data cable (I actually use a thunderbolt cable for mine) and plug it in to a MacBook, iMac or iPad Pro, and it should update fairly quickly. I plugged my USB AirPods 2 into my iMac USB port and it updated within 10 minutes.

This update method is beyond horrible. Only a bean counter like Tim Cook could come with something that sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. My Airpod Pros are stuck at 6A300 and would not update to the last update either.

EPIC FAIL APPLE!
Just because it hasn't updated doesn't mean the update process is not working. Apple does not always push or even allow all updates to all people at once. They sometimes curate the target audience to soft-launch features, and wait for early reports before releasing something more broadly.

Um, I am noticing a lot more skipping with the Airpods Pro 2 (USB-C) these days. Wondering if it's this firmware update. 6B32, Case 61.3.0 Argh

updated a new pair of AirPods Pro 2 to 6B32 within minutes however the case is still on 60.82.0; how so you update the case?
