No matter what I do, the AirPods under About will not stay. I open the lid and it shows then disappears. AirPods work fine though.

UPDATE: connecting by sticking in the ear would not bring up AirPods in About. So I connected to my Mac, then disconnected. Then connected in the Bluetooth section of my iPhone. Now it shows and has the latest update.

Try to close the case, go to the About menu and open it again. Then the "AirPods" should become available.
If this doesn't work, you can try to unpair and than pair them again with the iPhone.

Did exactly that but did not work. Only my disconnecting and reconnecting in the Bluetooth section did it finally show up and stay in About. Strange.
[doublepost=1495656157][/doublepost]Love my AirPods but 2 updates since release - would be nice if Apple told us what the updates were for.

I had written this about 20 minutes ago, then decided against posting because I didn't know if the snappier joke was still going around.

Kudos
There are still a few of us that get and appreciate the "snappier" and "elevator" references.

Also, if they won't update, you are probably holding them wrong.

Hopefully this fixes the 'bug' I have encountered where if the AirPods are connected to my iPhone playing music and then a phone call comes in then if I take the AirPods out to answer the call traditionally then the music plays via the internal speaker as well as hearing the voice call. Very frustrating.
I think this a Bluetooth issue because this exact thing happens when I get a call and answer with my car while listening to music. Sometimes it even loses connection to my car after the call ends (and music is still playing).

That is what worked for me.

Connect to wifi.
Open AirPod case.
Go to about. Select AirPod.

Count to 30. Shut AirPod case.
Count to 30. Open AirPod case.

Check about on AirPod settings. Mine was updated just now. Took a few tries though.

Case doesn't need to be connected to a charger.
This worked for me. Really unintuitive way to update though. Nobody would know this set of steps without researching online.

I never have my AirPods in the case with the lid open longer than it takes me to take them out.

Now hoping that they will work better with phone calls. I have continued instances where I answer a call and while on the call it will show as connected but there is no sound and If I switch to iPhone or speaker it works fine, go to AirPods and completely dead but the caller is on the other line. My Moto hint will connect almost immediately when I stick it in my ear but the AirPods have been very sketchy putting one in my ear to transfer the call to them.

I tried all sorts of methods but couldn't get the AirPods to show in the About section. In the end, I rebooted my phone, opened the case and went to the About section and Hey Presto 3.7.2

Really hoping this fixes the fact that I can't really use them outside reliably.... Been working with apple on the issue (after having them replaced and my iphone replaced). Mine aren't updated yet but fingers crossed!

Mine have a horrible habbit of disconnecting from my Apple Watch while I'm outside if I come anywhere near my iPhone, which may be in the house (example: I am mowing the lawn and leave my iPhone inside and only have on my watch and my AirPods. I connect everything up, but every time I pass by a corner of my house the music stops and my Airpod connection with my Apple Watch drops.

It's very annoying.

How are early adopters getting on with their AirPods? Are they worth the money?

Yes, they're brilliant. A few minor bugs, but I can't live without mine now.

I hope this firmware fixes the "who knows how long they will take to connect" issue when you put one in your ear. Sometimes it's instant, and sometimes it can take 15-30 seconds. Wife's AirPods suffer from the same issue. I have an iPhone 7 Plus, and she has a 7 and an SE. Same issue for both of us.

That's how Bluetooth works, though. It's the same thing for me when I get in the car. My AirPods will disconnect from the phone, and the car's BT takes over.

Just checked the firmware version, 2 hours since this thread is been posted and.. yep it's 3.7.2. Don't know when it got updated.

They should push out release notes, I think.

Agreed. It would Be helpful to see what improvements they made with an itemized list, similar to what they do with iOS. I'm not sure why we don't have note options for the AirPods.

Oh dear, these tiny buds are awesome. If you can get over the tension that you might lose one of these, they make your life a bit easier. I love my Airpods.

I use them way more then regular people. I'm renting a house where I don't have a dedicated sound system. I do everything related to sound with these babies. Taking phone calls, listening to stuff all day at work, consuming media at home, movies, running all of them.

Love it!

Is the sound slightly louder after installing the update or it's just me going insane...

Yeah. Definitely louder. The first thing I had to do after updating was to turn the volume down a bit to get it to the same level it was at before updating. Not sure why apple would want them to get louder. Maybe to get it to be more sensitive to volume control.
