No specs, no "ours does this does yours?" not even the name of the product spoken in the ad.

Focus on the experience - absolutely perfect. Damn they really know what they're doing don't they.

Don't need to do they, we all just know what they're talking about.

Another proof that Apple are Marketing genius. The video shows simplicity and functionality without being boring. Nice, however playing that video at the start might be some shady way to not showcase the lack of Flash.

I don't know, guys. This one and the other philosophical iPad2 commercial come of as pretentious to me.

The "You don't have an iPhone" is simply horrid. It reeks of desperation. The iPad commercials are simply amazing. Smooth. serene, calm, confident.

Classic show don't tell.

Reeks of desperation? While I'm not crazy about the iPhone commercials either, you're going to have to explain that one to me.

It's funny, I could do all these things (in better quality though) for many years now on my PC. What exactly is Apple trying to tell us here?

If you don't"get it" now you never will.A tablet is simply not for you.Time to move on.

Consumers don't really care about Specs, just ask Motorola how that worked out with their Xoom.

I though they seemed a little more arrogant then desperate, but is it really arrogance when you have the best mobile phone around and know it?

An ad for grownups (of all ages)

Apple is good at figuring out what not to do:
1. no stupid theme or blaring music (Hey RIM, Chrissie Hynde and "Brass in My Pocket" was May 1980; and Motorola, am I a 12-year-old trying to turn into Cyborg?)
2. no specs (I have built electronics, but I don't care)
3. no knocking competition (well there is none, really; just an iPad and a Tablets market)

Dieter Rams and Jonathan Ive got it right.
You are done designing not when you have added everything you can think of, but when you have removed everything you don't need.

Apple has always had a good marketing team- even the more critical of us could agree that it made them think about the product. Now that they have captured a less biased market than the PC/ phone/ (way back when, iPod), it is awesome to see the simple, classy, and effective style. Just as someone above me has said; I don't care about specs or competitors. I care about what THIS product does well, and what practical purpose it'll have in my life.

Really a wonderful add in form and function. If you don't like it, use your media center PC to skip the commercial :D

New Android Ad:

Now... We can enjoy plastic devices that cost more than aluminum and glass devices.

Now... We can wonder why some people actually care about build quality.

Now... We can wait for some decent apps to come our way.

Now... We can purchase these apps from shady developers.

Now... We get to experience the onslaught of viruses and malware coming our way.

Now... We don't have to wait in line to get one, since no one else wants one.

Now... We can wonder why we ever bought one in the first place.

Now... We can try to figure out what to do with it.

Now... We can return it, or give it to a relative.

Why no white iPad 2 commercials?

Because the white looks cheap and the black looks classy.

I had a white iPad 2 on launch day and sold it for a black after seeing how distracting the color was. A white iPad would ruin these commercials!

Great commercial btw - just classy and it gave me goosebumps

These remain a heck of a lot better it's competitors. The Blackberry Playbook Ad seems in initially funny, until you realise it's aimed at those people who know what flash does without knowing that the majority of the web has caught up with the iPad and put their stuff in an iPad compatible format.

True, but I'd really like to see a summary of how the top 100 sites in different categories perform on ipad.

I have no use for am iPad ad or not

Apple is the definition of simplicity. It's amazing how brave they are to express this in their commercials. No verbal mention of Apple or the device they are advertising at all in the commercial. They are obviously selling what the iPad can do and not what the iPad is. Beautiful, Just beautiful.

Jeez, Its a fricking commercial, stop treating it like its the path to nirvana.

Ohhh! Its Beautiful!
