Nice ad. What's the music?
It's that obscure underground song that's playing everywhere.

The Astronomy app they show at the end is awesome and works exactly as shown. As an Astronomy buff, that app is "magical".
I thought that app as shown, was awesome. Does anyone know what app that is??
+1 on Star Map Pro. Distant Suns is terrific and very pretty, too. I always bring my iPad along during long and boring night flights over the pacific to check out the stars. (long haul pilot here...).![]()
Some people hate that use of the word "magical" just as some people hated the "I'm a Mac" ads. But the way we talk in everyday life is not always the way language is used in marketing. Are Keebler cookies really made with "magic" by elves? No. Are Lucky Charms actually "magically" delicious? No. But both campaigns have been wildly successful for decades.
"Magic" as a marketing term is understood and accepted. Except by picky geeks who always think they know more than Apple and its partners.
But ipad is a computer which is all about technology. It's meant for adults. describing it as magical is about as silly as describing a 3D TV as "magical."
I'm glad you don't work for marketing. We'd have some boring serious ads that lack charm.
That's ridiculous. Remember that PC ad with the little girl and the fish? That was a very well done and charming ad. No mention of magic either.

i like the ad. what is that scientific app again?
whats the app under scientific?
Actually, it does make sense, in the way that each caption is conclusive of each projected experience. The design of the commercial doesn’t make any sense to me.
Video clip followed by text caption
That was somewhat confusing to me. I am very used to seeing text followed by video. I see ‘Scientific’ after a video but I think the next clip will show what is Magical, not the last one. It is very backwards to me.
Cute ad, though, not even child exploitation seems to have helped much with their campaign.
The original: Kylie Age 4 gets BSOD
In reality, there are many more 4 year olds who are adept at utilizing the 'magical' multi-touch interface of the iPhone and iPad.
Windows could certainly use some 'magic' these days, other than magically slowing down, and moving large files at a magically glacial pace.
I know it makes sense but it isnt the way most people think and requires you to do some extra thinking to make sense of it.
That is freaking awesome - 'star gazing' on international flights - set auto pilot, and voila.
Make the screen larger, and your on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise.![]()
So, that makes 1 out of 80?It was the highest rated and well liked commercial MS has ever aired.
Child exploitation? Riiiight. And who makes iphones? The kid in the PC commercial got paid very well.
Cant say the same for the kids making iphones, now can we?
Who said anything about hate - Windows is known for its tendencies, be that as it may. What's that saying... haters gonna hate?
Stereotyping, are we?LOL. Judging by the amount of OCD that mac users have I doubt any 4 year olds get to play with an ipad.
Absolutely.Do you REALLY want to compare pure performance between a PC and a Mac? Really??? /facepalm
So, that makes 1 out of 80?
After the agent's cut, she's left with approx. $20,000.
Very well, by USA standards - NOT.
By comparison to most Taiwanese factory workers salaries, yes we can.
No magic at all - it's all about....... fish. So? It's still a very well liked commercial thats cute and whimsical that has nothing to do with "magic."
First of all you have no idea how much money she made. Second, even if it was "only" $20,000, thats a LOT of money. How many 4 year olds earn $20k?
Child labor, you say?Since you obviously dont understand the concept of child labor and why it's wrong there's no further point in continuing this discussion with you.
If you think selling yourself as a 'poster child' for Microsoft is worth only a mere $20,000, for a life-long stigma, you obviously don't understand the concept of exploitation.
