First, Apple used an almost replica of Delicious Library's interface in its iBooks. Although, it wasn't protected, Apple Inc hasn't even informed the developers that it was planning to create something that looked almost exactly the same as one of their products.

Now, they are using the term 'delicious'.

In six months, Apple will buy Delicious Monster, the developer of Delicious Library...

Anyone know what the blackboard app is?

That would be MathBoard for iPad.

I've also been using Elements, and Star Map Pro, which are beyond awesome.

Elements deeply utilizes the rendering capabilities, while Star Map Pro integrates the accelerometer with great graphics, detail, and soundtrack.

... Geeks have a certain logical and literal mindset that works quite well as they develop tech, and when they find an example in the world that does not fit that logical and literal mindset, they get picky about it. They try to correct the world to make it fit their mindset.
...

I would tend to agree with the above.

It's just an ad with the goal of getting you to try/buy the product. It's not a tech spec.

From an advertising/marketing perspective it fits Apple's image - clean and simple. Simple clean white background, words & music... probably targeted to the basic consumer electronics buyer.

If it were aimed at the computer geeks, it would have a list of features and numbers (more like some of the Droid ads) trying to distinguish the product by something more measurable and quantifiable... something that the above so called "geeks" are more comfortable with.

Anyone know what the blackboard app is?

Never mind. I found the answer to my question. It's MathBoard.

Note: sorry DMann, I saw you responded to my question while I was posting a reply. Thanks!

Not sure if you realize that your username pegs you as a bitter, angry troll?

This place is teeming with them these days. If more people would use the Ignore function, we could do a lot to clean up this forum. Click the user's name, view their public profile, and click Ignore. Goodbye troll spam.

I wish it were easier though. An Ignore button next to their user name would be even better. Filtering out the noise should be a one-click affair.

And sadly enough, this forum software doesn't block replies to trolls that are on my Ignore list, so I still have to see their drivel in quotes. :(

Here's to hoping that the web follows Apple's lead and pushes Magical in our faces daily. ;)

You do realize that several people think flash right is magical.

to them the iPad is jesus. and so apple's commercial is appealing to them

Show me a link where people think flash is magical?

Merely the suggestion of flash goes to show that it's unwarranted defensiveness of ipad fanboyism.

Look I enjoy mac products but let's not kid ourselves people - 'magical' is a very silly word

magical |ˈmajikəl|
adjective
1 relating to or using magic : a magical crystal ball.
• resembling magic; produced or working as if by magic : he had a gentle, magical touch with the child.
2 beautiful or delightful in such a way as to seem removed from everyday life : it was a magical evening of pure nostalgia.

I'm also waiting to see how iPad behaves with the iOS4 and multitasking, before buying one. I got so angry with iOS4 and iPhone 3G, completely unusable, that now I want to wait and see.

By the way, anyone can guess which is the sketch application they use in the "art" slide?
well dont get too angry, try iOS4 and the new iPhone 4 :p
Im getting bad battery life and awful texting experience plus the added (no dropped calls) loss of signal for minutes at a time :p

It is a magical device. Please read the rest of the comments to see why your post was annoying.

Have you ever used Elements, Star Walk, or iStockManager?

Magical does seem to apply. ;)

Adj. 1. magical - possessing or using or characteristic of or appropriate to supernatural powers; "charming incantations"; "magic signs that protect against adverse influence"; "a magical spell"; "'tis now the very witching time of night"- Shakespeare; "wizard wands"; "wizardly powers."
it is NOT magical.

I drank the Kool Aid a long time ago and enjoy my Apple devices but you two must inject the stuff daily.

Why should they have to?

For someone who has witnessed how PCs, phones, pda's have grown up, I think as a computing device, the iPad is magical in that people aren't talking about the device, the OS, but the apps, how you touch it, how you do things, what you do with it. Heck, even my mother who is 65 and who has never used a computer touched it and said that maybe she can buy one to do stuff, like emailing, reading, surfing. I'm buying one for her, because it's the one device I trust that she can actually use on her own, and without her ever feeling that she might do something wrong or brake things. The Mac OS is great, but too abstract. With the iPhone, and more so the iPad, the abstract layer is gone.

*sigh*

Another person who won't read the comments. Please read this one and see why you are wrong. It is magical under definition 2. And that's even if you insist on taking things literally, which you are not meant to do.

It is magical.

I love how none of the fingers touching the screen leave behind the slightest smudge marks -- now THAT'S false advertising!

If you can see smudge marks on your iPad from a straight-on angle, as in this ad, with the screen turned on no less, you need to lay off the Cheetos.
