Wonder if this means we can expect an update to the battery pack.
Apple today released updated firmware for the MagSafe Charger that's compatible with iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models that have magnets inside. The new firmware is version 10M229, up from 9M5069.

The MagSafe Charger initially came out in fall 2020 alongside the iPhone 12 models, and it has previously seen at least one firmware update.
Because firmware updates are done quietly over the air, Apple does not provide release notes, so we do not know what new features or bug fixes might be included in the software.
There is also no clear method for updating a MagSafe charger's firmware, but it needs to be plugged in and connected to an Apple device for a firmware update to initiate.
You can check your MagSafe Charger's firmware by following the instructions in our MagSafe Charger how to.

So is the updated version 247.0.0.0 or 10M229?
Wireless charging will always have some heating to it. Just the nature of the medium.Hopefully no more heating issues.
So does it need to connect to a Mac to get the update via the USB C connection? Or will it eventually also update while powered through a power brick and attached to an iPhone?
Which seems weird, since I wonder how many people will ever connect this way? I have 2 of them, but both are exclusively used with power bricks. I guess I'll plug each into my Mac this evening to see if that updates them. I currently plugged the one I have with me directly into the USB C port on my work HP PC just to see if somehow that will update it....I doubt it, but just curious.Probably requires/ appreciates a direct connection as two members are reporting update post connecting to the Mac.
It’s Apple, there’s bound to be an update for anythingDamn, I didn't know there was firmware for a charger.
Indeed, this works, thanks.Connected it to MacBook and it got updated. It was showing 174.0.0.0 before the upgrade. Also, MagSafe charger was not functional during the upgrade.
Magnets strength seem to have improved a lot after the upgrade

...getting the best out of that solution a lot of users obviously like?It could get updates, but to fix what?
I don’t know why you would. Charging speed is greatly reduced from the already not fast fast charger.Which seems weird, since I wonder how many people will ever connect this way? Mine updated almost immediately after connecting it to my Mac.So does it need to connect to a Mac to get the update via the USB C connection? Or will it eventually also update while powered through a power brick and attached to an iPhone?

...just optimizing the result you get with the input you have? Not turning into a multiplyer of the energy you feed it. (I would buy all stock of that inventor immediately...)Best how? Are you suggesting faster charging than 5W?
I don't think there is an update for the MagSafe Duo as I plugged it into my mac and it won't update from Version: 1.86
