Nice update, but I'll still focus on what is most disappointing to me:

- No Matte Option
- Still no wireless keyboard with numeric keypad!
- Lack of SSD options (was really hoping the rumor of a couple of months ago of a small SSD drive for boot).

Two Thunderbolt ports on the 27".

You now get a 2TB drive and 256GB SSD for what the old 1TB+SSD combo. cost, although it would have been nice to see cheaper/more options here.

Wow. Apple is gradually starting to push more aggressive pricing. $1200 for a quad-core iMac is pretty decent. I'm happy with my "old" i7 for now. But the next iMac upgrade should be pretty amazing. (8-core base model?)

IPS removed from specs...

The IPS tech screens are removed from specs...
Have they moved to TN panel sinstead...?

Still only 500GB hard drive on the low end. Ug! Hasn't apple realized it's 2011 and 1TB should now be the minimum?

No matte antiglare screens on the new iMacs. If you need matte screens, there's something you can do - add your voice to 1,300+ petitions at http://macmatte.wordpress.com Unlike personal emails to Apple - which Apple just ignore, asserting everyone loves glossy screens - make it count by adding to the online petition where your voice will remain visible on the net until Apple listens. Remember, adding your comment to transient news articles on the net is fine, but those articles go out of date in a few weeks, and also there is no long-term accumulation and consolidation of numbers, like there is at a petition site.

Meh, she's got sharp knees.

Oh, wait, I'm not on fark bitching about a beautiful woman...

Sweet update. Might consider trading in my Mac Pro.

Update looks great, especially the new graphic card options.

I am disappointed that the SSD prices are the same as last year. US$600 for a 256GB SSD option. I was hoping for a big price reduction. (or at least a little price reduction...)

$1199 iMac looks very attractive

add/modify SSD yourself, that machines looks nice for the price.

i am booting from external SSD, pretty fast for two year old machine

Display in?

I have a question...

Even now they have Thunderbolt, I suppose we'd still require expensive video converters to be able to use the (27") iMac as a display for an Xbox 360/PS3?

I don't suppose Thunderbolt means we can now just use a simple cable adaptor or something, no?

Using one as an external display

It was possible to use the previous 27" as an external display for a MacBook. Can't see any mention of that after a brief scan, and it's a deal-breaker for me. Anyone spot such a feature?

Nice to see they retained the firewire ports for dinosaurs like me who still have audio interfaces and camcorders that rely on it. :) Lurvely!

Hm, how would I be able to connect my DVI monitor to one of these? I need my high quality Eizo to do photo editing on. I'm not going to do that on the main screen.
