All fine here, V2.0 downloaded, restored, activated and working.

From iphone 1.4 w O2 in UK.

I tried the unplug and plug back in method, and mow I am getting an iTunes error, -9838 whenever I plug my iphone in.

I downloaded the leak yesterday, and downloaded todays release, and was stuck in the "Accessing iTunes" stage before this happened.

Anyone else having this problem?

Stuck - Help?!?

I'm stuck at the "Restoring iPhone Software" and have been for a LONG time. Anyone else having this problem or know what I should do?

I am definitely going to wait until tonight to install the update from today. I have yesterday's update installed so I'm fine for now.

UNPRECEDENTED NEW ERROR PICTURE lol It's probably going to be old by the time I post it.

Apple should have let 1st gen iPhone owners to download 2.0 earlier this week. Both as a 'thank you' and to prevent this very thing from happening.

Help!

So I was able to download the 2.0 software but then afterwards the iTunes store went down and won't let me restart my iPhone. Now it's just sitting here useless. What do I do?!?!!?

Could not complete your itunes store request..

This apple! They get people so excited that they finally release the 2.0 software. I downloaded the software and at the end when my phone was restarting itself for the last time, iTunes stopped it!

It says "could not complete your itunes store request". I called apple and they said that they can't do anything about it because there is so much confusion and chaos in apple/itunes.

Any help?

Just got my 8 GB. Unfortunately, can't install 7.7. Page is messed up.

I should have installed it yesterday when I had the chance...

Just keep switching from a playlist to your iPhone in the left pane of iTunes.

Or you can eject and plug back in. It will work.

I was stuck on the "accessing iTunes store" bit, and then it timed out:(

What do I do now? My phone is useless and I'd like to phone someone.......

I guess I'm happy that it is not just me. Seems like the iTunes store is down. As I figure there are about a million people this morning trying to install this Firmware.

Here's to hoping Apple gets ITMS up soon!:(

How exactly should Apple have prepared for a massive one-time event? Install a billion servers so you don't have to lose a few minutes of you oh-so-precious life? Please.

The slowdown is for the same reason that freeways aren't 200 lanes wide, or why there are 500 exit doors at the movie theater. If everyone waits their turn, everyone gets served.

Didn't your mother teach you any manners?

AMEN!!!!!

I appreciate the calm posts here from those helping... for those of you bitching, take a chill pill and relax. This isn't the worst thing that will ever happen to you... serve some time on jury duty and find out how some people have to live with pain etc and this will be nothing. Quit sweating the small stuff - and this is very small!

After hours of staring at the Accessing iTunes Store, my iPhone miraculously activated. Now I can't even restore my settings and media, because I'm getting the -9838 error. Why does it have to connect to the store again if the phone is activated already???!

Apparently 2.0 adds a new feature when you sync iPhone. Backup. Itunes now automatically backs up iPhone EVERY TIME you sync, making the sync process painfully slow. This sucks if you're in a hurry but then again if something like this ever happens again, it might not be such a bad thing

It backed up the phone before. Now it is just more obvious.

Allllright. As I posted before, for those who understandably missed it in the avalanche that's going on, I've successfully updated from leaked 2.0 to legit 2.0, and have restored and reactivated my phone. I can confirm network connectivity, data working, texts preserved, visual voicemail working and preserved, etc. etc.

I said I wouldn't post anything that was possibly placebo-ish, but I can't resist saying that my iPhone now FEELS a whole lot smoother and snappier than with the leaked 2.0 firmware.

Here's some shots with the new screenshot technique.

Exactly. They obviously didn't learn a damn thing from last year's iPhone launch. The activation problems that occured then are the same that is happening now. I'm beginning to think it's quite hilarious, really. Apple thinks their sh** don't stink, can make commercials openly blasting other companies, and yet they can't do things any different.

I bet 2.0 has been ready for at least a week. It could have easily been released on Monday or Tuesday.
