Hardly *any* websites still have java applets. *as a java developer* I haven't even seen one for i don't know how long. Java does indeed still have its place(s) but applets are deader than a dead thing.

Flash is thankfully getting rarer too. My feeling now is that any site that only offers video as flash, or like BBC insists on serving flash to desktop users despite it working perfectly well using HTML5 if you force it, just don't really want me to watch their videos.

That's why you leave Javascript turned On in Safari. What you want to remove is Oracle's JAVA.
Some users may search for anything that says Java, and remove what shouldn't be removed.

I also installed AdBlock in Safari, and that made it even better.

Why are they so lazy with the Release Notes? I'm confused. Sometimes they are very descriptive, and other times it's just a canned response. Is it laziness? Do they think that we don't need or want to know? Are they worried that they might reveal a vulnerability with non-updated systems?

Because they haven't fixed anything? I'm not even sure what Apple does with these updates. It's as if they just bs the update and release it to not look bad.

Install this. It is a missing JDK file in the OS that for some people causes issues. Let me know if it doesn't fix it.

Oh god, no, don't install that. That's an old no-longer-supported version. If you're worried about security that's the worst thing you can do. That's like, you don't like windows 10 so you reinstall windows xp. If you have a legitimate java app that needs to run, install the latest oracle (but watch out for those damn ask toolbars - you can turn that off in the java control panel after the first time).

And if you don't know what's trying to run java, or it's something that insists on running on such an old version, find it and get rid of it.

Did they fix the annoying external drive bug? Ever since the last update I can't mount my external drive. It see's it but won't mount.

Major things Apple still failed to fix with this release (yet these are being reported through the beta program since the 10.10 days)

- International keyboards intermittently disappearing upon restart,
- Messages.app inability to show Friend's location on details/map despite showing in description below, when the NC widget displays map with no issues whatsoever. This started off with 10.11.1 to be honest...

Thank you tywebb13;

I've tried several times going through the Mac App Store but each download was corrupted. I was able to update through your links.

Here's the detailed list of security fixes in 10.11.3:

The problem with iMessage/Facetime, not able to log in still not fix. iCloud through System Preference still cannot log in either. :(

Have you tried changing your iCloud acc password through the iCloud/passw changing process in the web-interface?

It used to fix some issues like that.
