Updated and ALL.MY.MAIL.IS.GONE.

Not happy about this. Hopefully Time Machine has it saved. Anyone else have this happen and find a fix?

Uploaded to two macs, both have mail derailed totally. It looks like my passwords have gone for the mail accounts of various types (smtp, icloud, gmail, exchange) but I can not reenter them. Also accounts are duplicated in the accounts pain. others same problem?

Up and running with El Capitan now on one machine; another is in the process of downloading -- says it'll be about three hours -- and I'll just wait until tomorrow to do the third machine. I feel as though all I've been doing in the past few days is tinkering with one machine or another or my iPads and iPhone.....updating, doing some necessary "housekeeping," etc., etc. Happy to have El Capitan on board on one machine already! :)

"Install OS X El Capitan.app" should be in the /Applications folder of the finished machine. If you're not doing a clean install you can just copy that to the other machines and run it.

I upgraded to El Capitan from Yosemite and now I have no sound. When I try to click on the sound in the preference in settings. It says Error Sound preference cannot be loaded. If Yosemite shows up in my purchases I can downgrade them right?

Done, installed :D

Help! It downloaded, I clicked to install, it said it needed to close apps, then it rebooted, and then said it shut down due to problems. Now its rebooted but in the App store it just says its downloaded, I can't see any way of installing it again?

iMac 5K 27" fully maxed out.

What do I do now?

Now running OS X El Capitan on my 27 inch retina iMac.

IT HAS FIXED EVERYTHING. Finally zippy like a computer with a core i7 processor and 24 GB of ram should be. Mission control finally works properly. Facebook doesn't lag. Multiple windows can be open at once without lag. So happy.

It's like I finally got the computer that I paid for.

You should have an App in your Applications folder. Click on that and the install process will start again.

Just installed the public release over the GM released a while back, and I might be going crazy, but it sure does feel more polished all around. Especially, and I hate myself for even saying this, Safari seems to have improved a whole lot. You know, now being of the snappier variety.

Same thing with f. ex. animations and UI in general. Can anyone else confirm this? If not, cool, but it would appear it really was worth the effort to dl and install despite already being on the GM.

Updated to El Capitan but .... has anyone else been getting a notification from the App store about an iPhoto update being ready and when you click there is no such thing? I don't even have iPhoto anymore, obviously.

I had the same problem as you.

If you go to the Apple menu in the top left corner, look under "Recent Items" and there is an app titled, "Install OS X El Capitan"

Did you make a clean install?

Seems to be working great! The only issue I am having is that none of the images in my email are showing up when using the mailbox app. Is anyone else having the same prob?

I'm guessing that will be an app update issue, and not OS X issue, though.
