I bought a Macbook Pro this year. If I update to El Cap without doing a fresh install will I loose in performance?
Easy: http://osxdaily.com/2015/09/30/create-os-x-el-capitan-boot-install-drive/Well, to upgrade to this I'm gonna have to do a clean install, as my MacBook Air is rather snail-like to start up and run. So, anyone know how to do a clean install of OS X? I'm mostly a Windows guy, so I know all about Windows and and PC hardware, but not so much about Mac PCs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. All I can give you is a LIKE for your help, sorry, but I would appreciate it a lot.
Thanks, but I will wait for OSX 11.11.2 ...

Create the install USB Drive and do it
Five hours later, still downloading. Oh, Australia.
If you are with Telstra/Bigpond there seems to be a problem with speed on the App Store (see Whirlpool threads).
I'm on iiNet in Australia and it downloaded in less than 15mins.
OMG the download is going so slow, 1 hour in and barely 400Mb down out of 6Gb. will be down in about 1 day & 5 hours going by the App Store DL.
My MBP 2010 came with Snow Leopard preinstalled. So far I updated to Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite and El Capitan. Each on the first day of Golden Master availability. I never made a clean install of OS X. Never had a reason to. Why do you want to lose all your data? When I will buy a new MacBook in a few years, I plan to restore my system with all it's files and settings from backup.
I have the 27" late 2012 iMac with i7 processor and 8gb ram
Is it necessary to do do a clean install if upgrading from mavericks?
Will there be a significant difference if I just do a straight upgrade
hmmm
Software updates says no updates available?
Did they pull it?
I updated yesterday to the latest El Capitan and now my updates are showing public beta 10.11.1.. Why is it wanting me to go back to beta?
