Apple Releases OS X 10.11 El Capitan With Improved Spotlight Search, Enhanced Performance, and Revamped Apps

Same question

For the Yosemite Beta, the final release was one build number head of the GM Candidate. There was no functional difference, and both builds were updatable to the same 10.10.1 build.

Even if Apple doesn't release an update for the GM candidate, I wouldn't sweat it and would wait for 10.10.1. Most likely the differences are small ones like removing the feedback app, etc. If there was some kind of major bug, they'd release a delta update or instruct developers to update to the final release.

Funny thing how they keep stating how stable it is however I've been getting numerous e-mails from Native Instrument, Steinberg, Slate Digital, and Gobbler all advising the same thing: NOT TO UPGRADE. At least not at this moment until all the bugs and fixed and patched. So unfortunately I won't be upgrading for a while until I know without a doubt I won't have any issues having Logic Pro X trying to authorize my AU plugins and VIs and have it freeze up or crash. Just a heads up for all music producers, composers, etc.

Trying to get in early in hopes of someone delivering the answers...

Could anyone verify with certainty:
  • Will it run Adobe CS 5.5 programs with no issues?
  • Will it run Pages '09 with no issues?

Edit: made corrections to the latter question about Yosemite

I had problems with CS 5.5 in the public betas & GM, the CS5.5 apps would launch (after you reinstall Java) but they would not refresh properly. And some screens would render as all black. It wasn't much fun.

I haven't tried on the official release of El Cap yet.

Mavericks isn't available on the App Store anymore, except for those who "purchased" it when it was.

Thanks, this is what I just realized... 5 minutes ago Yosemite link was working still, and now it's not anymore nor is it in the store except under Purchased tab.

Why does it not show up on the front page of the App Store yet? Does Apple want to test something on a few early adopters first before letting it out to the masses?

Edit: Yeah, never mind, it's showing it now.

Is this the same as the public GM? or is there reason to download? I don't see it in updates, but it looks like I can download when searched.
