If your machine crashes by simple things like launching iTunes you should seriously consider getting your system checked or at least make a fresh re-installation of Mac OS X Lion using the recovery partition / tool (clicking cmd + r on boot). If you don't have a active recovery solution grab this tool and make one: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1433

People having bizarre and critical issues like yours that doesn't make sense whatsoever should all do this. You don't really think Apple would release a operating system where key application like iTunes etc.. would not work at all? If such problems existed in a large scale you would certainly know about it.

Therefor we can assume that this issue is related to your system, so you should get it checked out or at least go a fresh installation because something has surely gone wrong some place.

Works fine for me so far

I updated my 2010 macbook pro 13" and haven't had any issues in the 10 hours straight I've been on my laptop (uni).

My only issue prior to the update was as the days went on my laptop was running slower and slower and slower. I needed to close all my windows and reboot (so nothing opened on startup) to fix the issue. I didn't have any of the other bugs people are reporting. It was working perfectly until all processes started to drag.

I can't tell if that's fixed yet, I'll need to use it a couple of days more but I'm finding it... faster? Placebo effect, perhaps, but that's all I can see so far.

Yesterday i unboxed my new 27" iMac, applied this update today and it's running great. I guess it just boils down to specific machines or models. You will never know, unless you try it.

I wonder how many of the issues are on machines that were upgraded to Lion vs. where Lion was freshly installed.

Perhaps folks can also indicate this in their posts.

This update CAUSED problems for me. I didn't have a wifi issue until now. At wake-up, the system now clears the connected Wifi networks and requires me to select the appropriate connection. Very annoying. It no longer remembers what my connection was when sleep was invoked.

Wake from sleep on my 13 MBA 2011 now is twice as long as it was before the update.

... Hopefully .2 will re-address these for me?!? Fingers crossed

Try the old Snow Leopard trick.
Launch Network Utility, go to locations and select edit location and create your own instead of using the default "automatic" one. This has always solved every issue I've had with OS X not saving and recognising my wireless access points in the past. I also had to apply this to my girlfriends MacBook Pro 17" 2010 model after installing Mac OS X Lion for her.

still waiting a bit before upgrading.
I'm still happy with SL,...

I think i'll update by the time iPhone + iOS5 hit the shelves

fixed my audio icon being grayed out. (my main problem with Lion on this laptop)

Safari is sluggish and beach balling allot now on 10.7.1 ...weird...I didn't notice this before maybe because I use firefox more.

Overall it does feel snappier opening launchpad and opening/swiping in mission control

I'm hearing my fans spin up more now than when I was on 10.7

I'll have to do some more testing....

This is on my Macbook Pro 13" - June 2009 model, with original 256 ssd, 8gb ram.

I haven't done a clean install on this laptop yet since purchase.

I bought it from Apple with Leopard, I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and then upgraded to Lion. :) No issues other than the audio.

Some things I have found that have been fixed.

1. Safari allows you to type in the web site name, i.e. macrumors and it autocompletes the www and .com parts, it didn't work before with 10.7.

2. iCal and MobileMe - Adding an account doesn't seem to have an issue finding ical servers. You had to manually add the ical server. Sounds like someone put the wrong server address in?

3. Magic mouse scrolling is improved!

4. Overall seems to be a little more responsive, however when you open system preferences it takes a while to load.

5. Show Library was restored to 10.7 default, but using the terminal command brought it back.

Lion Rock!!

Never had problem with 10.7.0 and still no problem with 10.7.1 lion just ROCK love it everything is faster people should get lion and not think about it best operating system ever !!:apple::)

Didn't fix the audio icon issue on the menu bar. Installed the update, rebooted, and the icon was grayed out. Nice...WTF Apple? Their QA is tanking lately. Hate to complain, but really...

I recall this happening to me in SL a while back...had to do with Toast (I think) installing an alternate audio output. Go to System Prefs-->Sound and make sure your Output is set to "Internal Speakers" and not some virtual output device.

Same here :) Windows 7 sure runs well on our three laptops, PC and HTPC. Just beautiful :p

I don't think Windows losers realize how childish they are trolling Mac forums.

It's like this:

As Mac users, we've got this hot girlfriend, and we're complaining that she doesn't paint her nails in colors we like.....

and then some schmuck Windows user comes by, who has never had a descent girlfriend, and tries to wow us that his girlfriend shaves her underarms, and that we should be impressed. Please.

Hmmmm....maybe it's finally time to upgrade my MBP to Lion.........or maybe I'll wait until 10.7.2.

Decisions, decisions......

well, I wait till 10.7.3. I'm on the fence if I should buy the USB stick version. It's not that much more expensive and esp. if you facter in the cost of the USB stick and the hassle of the download.

Based on news reporting of Lion OSX, it seems like Apple has dropped the ball on this update? Is this the Windows equivalent of Vista on Mac? dun dun dun!

As someone pointed out, Apple has dropped the "Quality" from their name, especially when it comes to software. Their hardware is awesome. iOS is still amazing in terms of the whole platform but OSX is like retarded now. I like the appearance changes of OSX Lion but i'm confused why they are having soo many goofy problems. Its like they want people to just get used to iOS and who knows, they may stop making OSX soon. Really, if OSX becomes iOS that's fine, it will just make buying a MAC completely different than a PC because you'll be greatly limited in what you can do. Maybe all the "Pros" will move to PC then. I guess we'll all find out in due time. I've been building PC's for 8+ years and finally got a Mac and love it, then Lion comes out and im thinking, huh????.

Classic!

Now having some Launchpad issues with this build when moving things around on it... Crashes and goes to greyscreen before relaunching Finder.
