Mmm kernel panics on Late 2010 MBA, I guess thats what they mean by power nap!

Yes, installing iOS 6 is what unifies the two accounts, so you'll have to have that first.

Thanks for the quick response! does it matter in which order I do it (iphone first to ios6 and then mac to 10.8.2, or can I download 10.8.2 first to my mac and then upgrade my iphone later?)

For everyone asking about how to add a phone number to Messages:

Open Messages > Preferences > Accounts. Select your iMessage account, and then you have the option of adding your phone number.

Edit: You HAVE to have iOS 6 installed. This is what unifies your email address with your phone number.

It keeps saying "Failed to verify the email" when I'm typing in my phone number. No matter how I type my phone number it keeps thinking it is an email.

Phone has iOS 6 on it, messages on Mac doesn't say anything about adding a phone number

I'm not entirely sure, but I think it doesn't matter.

I believe you have to have an email address associated with it, even if you don't use it. You can set it up so that it doesn't even use that email at all, but you need to use that initially.

Save as... works as expected again

When I do a "Save as..." in Pages, the naming dialog box presents a checkbox (default UNchecked) asking whether I want to save the changes to the -original- document before saving as the -new- document. So we have been gifted with a return to the same behavior we've come to expect from our Macs since 1984. Thank you, Apple. Too bad we had to scream bloody murder for so long.

I already had my cell phone number listed under the contact which my iCloud email address was linked to. It automatically asked me if I wanted to use this Telephone number for iMessage. I just clicked yes and it's linked.

but the telephone number I had listed was +1 XXX-XXX-XXXX. I edited so I could remove the +1, but it's not updating in iMessage.

When I try to add my Facebook account, I don't get the FB option.. This is all I get (and Flickr which didnt fit in my screen shot)

Hi.

What's the difference between the regular download and the COMBO download?

Don

haven't seen an answer, so I'm just going to go for it. When I click on the apple icon and then software update on my mac, it then just brings up one option with an update button, so I'm going to go with that an assume my mac knows what it needs. :)

I have one set up with it though. But the only option I have is to set up another email, not a phone number.

Combo updates from any previous 10.8.x version, so 10.8.0 or 10.8.1. Delta updater (the other one) only updates from .1.

Some people prefer the combo, since more is installed it may have a chance of fixing something that wasn't installed properly in a previous OS version.

so when are they finally going to add some up to date OpenGL drivers? I wouldn't expect it for iOS but for macbooks its time to at least get to version 4.0.

Both would frequently disconnect and reconnect without warning. The keyboard would also become unresponsive and sometimes the special characters menu would randomly appear for no reason.

I posted to Apple Discussions, and several people responded that they had the same issues.

Have you?

I've run into unresponsive keyboard and trackpad (BT trackpad for my iMac) after reboots. It was bad enough that I had to go find a wired kbd to plug in to recover. I also now keep another BT mouse around.

Battery is definitely way better on 10.8.2
Safari is.. snappier :p
Otherwise, Facebook Integration is here, but not much use for it, as I have more FB Messenger Notifications..
Not a lot of excitement for software updates recently.. even iOS 6 is underwhelming, waiting to use Passbook most.

Open Safari and click the share button (next to the iCloud tabs button), it should have a Facebook option, if you click that it will take you to the Facebook set up screen.

No luck haha. I got email, message and twitter. I'm not too concerned about the whole FB integration thing but I thought it'd be cool to try out at least.
