Ok, so do I need OS X 10.8.2 and iOS 6 to sync my Apple ID and iPhone # in iMessages, or do I just need OS X 10.8.2? I know most have speculated that you'll need both, but the OS X update says it introduces iMessages sync whereas the iOS update doesn't even mention it. I'm asking because I want to hold off upgrading to iOS 6 until a jailbreak is released.

One improvement they have made is that they have shortened the animation when switching between full screen apps, now there is no more delay preventing you from doing anything. It's much quicker and smoother.

Updated to 10.8.2 but don't see where the option is for single sign on for Facebook. Any idea where it is located under System Preferences?

one may say snappier? ;)

Really?

That is supported! Just don't sign in... :)

Well they made that claim with Twitter in iOS and I have never signed in to Twitter, don't have an account, yet I still see a stupid Tweet button all over the place - like when I want to send a photo to a friend.

Please - someone prove me wrong and show me how Twitter and FaceBook can be turned off and completely removed from view in iOS6 and Mountain Lion.

Maybe then I will consider upgrading.

This is when I really love logmein.

As a new user of this, after the update and it sits at the login screen, is LogMeIn already running? I guess it makes sense that LogMeIn runs at startup (even before someone logs into their account), but still want to verify that.

I will not upgrade untill it is clear that I will not see any Facebook-logo anywhere.

I just signed into Facebook, and it put all of my friends into my contact book which pretty much made it impossible to navigate. I want the facebook integration but that address book skewing is killing me. I couldn't imagine scrolling through 500+ names in my iPhone when I want to call my parents or something.

Try rebooting? It's the exact same thing I did and it's there for me...

Still having no luck, this is what I'm looking at if it helps :/
With my luck I'm probably looking at the completely wrong thing haha

Oh wow, can't even run Messages now. Every time I try to open it I get the error to close it and retry. WTF!!!:mad:

Well, they're probably still signing iOS 5, so you can try installing iOS 6 to unify your account, then reinstalling iOS 5. Don't know if that works or not, but could be worth trying.

Once FB is logged in, you can go to the FB prefs and disable contacts to make those go away.

That's not how it's supposed to look (but you already figured that out :D). Are positive you upgraded to 10.8.2? Even without the unifying stuff, the "send read receipts" option is moved all the way down.

I downloaded the upgrade from the app store :/ I'll try with the link posted in here and see how it goes. Thanks

Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner and click About This Mac. It tells you there which version of OS X you're running.

"Txt'ing" my other iOS friends via my Mac using my Phone number is totally kick ass.
