Doesn't look like one of the fixes was the issue where wifi doesn't always connect, or disconnects, after you wake it up from sleep.

Would you rather they released 10.9 with more bugs so they could have a more "impressive" list of bugfixes later?

There are plenty of bugs that aren't fixed with this update (or at least they're not claimed to be). I still notice page scrolling issues in Launchpad.

Plus, if the bugs patched are only those claimed then why did it take this long and why is the update 250 Mb? Based on the publicised changes the update should be a fraction of that. I'm guessing Apple keeps hidden many of the changes because they want to give the impression that it's a relatively bug free OS.

Personally I wish they'd rethink versions. Often I want to make changes to a document and not save these changes. Because of automatic saving I now have to go through the added step of reverting to last opened before quitting the app. It gets pretty annoying after the 2 or 3 hundredth time.

Having said that I'll still take Mavericks over any earlier release. I love the power efficiency gains and I actually find Maps very quick and useful. Much better than loading Google maps...or worse...Google Earth (groans).

if they would just fix the wifi issues then i would be happy

My iMac like many others keep loosing wifi after Mavericks, all other devices keeps going, but wifi just go blank, sometimes up to 10 times pr minute, then i click the icon, and have to select my network, and then its on it again.. but for how long this time...

...L2TP connections are still not working...
the server log does not even show an attempt..
L2TP has also never worked for me, but for a reason: I have the Back to My Mac enabled on the router.
BtMM creates a L2TP connection transparently, without OS X Server.
And runs on same ports, so AirPort router ignores their forwarding setup completely.
Took me some time to figure it out, but this has actually been documented by Apple.

yup... my wifi after 10.9 is bonkers... was ok for a long time.. but now screwy... then i bought an aebs ac router and still issues... so def mavericks...

i have a first generation 2012 macbook pro retina, and for me everything runs smoother/faster with this update because of the updated graphic drivers :) and no noticeable bugs.

dont know what the heck you whiners are doing with your computers, i think many "bugs" are user errors

This update didn't fix my biggest annoyance: Mail still asks for my iCloud password every day.

Guess I'll go back to using Sparrow then.

Easy fix.... go to your Mail Preferences.

Select Accounts.

Choose your iCloud account.

Select Advanced.

Go to Authentication and choose Apple Token.

That will solve it for you.

EDIT:
Apparently I wasn't the first person to suggest this. :D

Have they fixed the Firewire issue with this update?
Do external Firewire hard drives spin down now if you choose to eject them?

I updated my 2012 Mini that has 16GB of RAM from 10.9 to 10.9.1 and noticed I have 1GB of VRAM.

The last I remember it being was 768MB, but I could have still be on ML.

Anyone else notice this, or did the change occur with 10.9 and I'm just now finding out?

Same here on my Mac Mini 2012 with 16 GB Ram... I think it was 768 MB before...interesting.

oh man what awful luck, i updated to 10.9.1, then i booted into the recovery mode to run disk utility and verify permissions and check disk one worked well the other froze the computer, had no option but to shut down, computer stopped working, I turn it on and get error -100F7 (something of the sort but the f was not centered) tried to do restore through web, same error. I back up the drive, I restore from bootcamp, and turn on computer, now getting folder with ?. The disk is being read in recovery boot mode (thanks to booting from CD) and the drive is being seen there but not detected when turned on.

I have tried a lot of steps in between (including trying to boot to single mode and SMC reset) so i cleared hard drive but this time without a encrypted format hopefully this works and ill be good.

has been working great all this time, oh when i first got disk utility working, before i changed the drive, all permission repair or disk repairs would say some file had been changed and that it could not change it. I played with it but it would not budge at all.

How about you managed your mappings for the gateway translations with NAT. FreeBSD does it differently than Linux, but you'll discover that there is a way to manage this between gateways. If it has incorrect mappings it most certain won't instantiate a secure socket layer connection.

Sorry, i am a noob at this can you please explain what you mean a both further?

Go into System Preferences > General, and look for the setting called "Ask to keep changes when closing documents". See if that works for you.

Thanks! D'oh to me. I learn something new everyday!

i didn't know either...just goes to show you, the only stupid question is the one not asked. i'm glad you asked - that way everybody made fun of you instead of me.:p

I wonder if this fixes the 3 finger swipe not working, to go back/forward in a Finder window?

This hasn't worked since Mavericks.

my only question as well. glad it claims to fix the gmail issues but, for me anyway, those are just irritating. the lack of gestures in finder seems like a HUGE oversight.

Yes, my rMBP13 2012 got VRAM increase to 1024MB with 10.9

Don't seem to be getting the random spinning beach ball now after update, that was very annoying.

happy days. that really is annoying

----------

Still have to force quit mail and now my hard drive is making random clicks that it has never made before on my 2 month old mini.

oh oh - that sounds like you are in need of a trip to the fruitstand :(

Your sarcasm isn't justified. The reality is there are still a lot of painful Mavericks bugs that aren't fixed. Now we need to hope and pray that Apple fixes them in .2

actually, i think his sarcasm was perfectly metered to the post, which was "what a lame bunch of fixes"

if the post had been "man, XYZ update is missing, that is ABC adjective" that would have been a different story.

the gmail issue was a big one for a lot of people...that alone is nice to see fixed.
Sure there are many other things that need to be addressed. For example, many of us would like to see gestures put back in finder so that would have been nice to have.

either way i thought both posts were pretty funny.

I'm really annoyed that easily reproducible bugs are not fixed such as Firewire drives not spinning down when you put a Mac to sleep - I naively assumed that such a glaring bug would be fixed in 10.9.1, especially as it's never been an issue with previous versions of OS X (How silly of me eh?).

As much as I like things Apple do, sometimes it beggars belief the things they choose to fix and the things they choose to ignore.

If I was feeling particularly cynical I'd say a firewire bug is something they'll probably ignore for a long time because they're not that bothered with Firewire anymore, they'd rather get you to jump to Thunderbolt or USB 3.0

Sadly nope...

Unbelievable....such a small issue and they don't care to fix it...pathetic.

That's exactly what I've been thinking.
