Not here. Haven't got the time to test it thoroughly yet but so far SMB seems to be WAY better than 10.9.1 on my late 2012 Mac Mini. As in I can actually save files over SMB now  from my Windows 7 virtual machines in VMWare Fusion on another Mac (iMac mid-2011, now also with 10.9.2) and don't have to go by my QNAP NAS as an intermediary.

Agreed. Access to my WD Mybook live is fast! Used to be so slow finder would crash. While my Windows VMs would run tip top. So happy this has finally been sorted.

Thank you Apple.

Fix

I use a Macbook Pro on SL OS 10.6.8, is this update for my system or only if i was on Mavericks?

solves mba 2013 battery life issue

back to >11 hours battery life with 10.9.2 on my 2013 mba 11"....was 3-4 hours with 10.9.1

Actually it does seem to work better, before you could hardly zoom in or out using the 2 fingers 'scroll', seems to be working again in FireFox.

But another issue not fixed is the loss of scroll if you swipe to go back a page in FireFox. You have to quite FF then go into the Trackpad settings and un-tick the 'swipe between pages' function.

Seriously this is still happening for such a basic function, either FireFox or Mavericks is at fault here.

Just updated, but find similar issues to yours, not exactly the same.

Every time I swipe back, Safari freezes. I have to quit each time and reopen. Refresh does not work, and the double tap that resized the selected article no longer works. It looks as though they have replaced it with "Reader" button to the right of URL field. This had been removed previously - now returned.

Right click and mouse slide magnifies window, as before. Anyone else found this snag?

The swipe back in Safari bug where it would show an inch or so of the previous page, then freeze? I kept experiencing that in the betas but it was very intermittent. Sometimes it wouldn't happen for ages, then it would appear. I haven't experienced it yet, either in the final build or the previous beta build.

i feel a bit lucky, updated in about 8 minutes no bugs or issues what so ever.

edit: love FaceTime audio!

It's such a cool feature!

Yes, that's the one

Not anymore, no. But the nature of any SSL failure will allow that to happen. If it happens in Windows, thats what'll happen. If it happens to a Linux Distro - thats what'll happen.

Basically, it allows impersonation and faking to appear authentic, regardless of how its introduced. It is also a potential source of malware - mostly these days - since we can trick automatic updaters into supplying a false patch.
Automatic updates still need properly signed patches to work, so even if the place where they come can be tricked they still wouldn't be properly signed (unless you are implying there is a whole other security hole somewhere that allows for fake signing) and wouldn't get installed because of that.

You know what I'm happy not to see?

Those special builds for the late 2013 mbp and mp.

The ones for 10.9.1 made it really hard to make a bootable usb installer for those machines.

So it looks like the full installer on the mac app store for 10.9.2 will be good for this. Can't verify this though because I don't have one of those machines.

Has anyone tried this yet on those machines? I'd be interested to know if it works.
You are completely right: I can finally download a full Mavericks installer from the app store without being presented the unbelievable error "this software is not compatible with your machine".

Correct me if I'm way off here... but the OSX issue is basically only going to affect someone that has a hacker that decided to park outside your house and crack into your wifi hotspot. While I realize the NSA can do this from miles away, I don't think most people were in danger of having critical data hacked over the weekend. I am not by any means downplaying the importance to fix the issue but clearly the media has milked this one for all it's worth.

But NOW, of all times, I'm having issues connecting to download email.

It's trying to connect to p04-imap.mail.me.com and so far is unable to.

The 'Words of Steve' are playing through my head: "Then why the **** doesn't it do that'...

Aren't they checksums on .pkg files INSIDE the .dmg?

The downloads are just .pkg files, no .dmg. So those are the checksums on the .pkg files, and don't match. I'm not stressed about it, but it is odd.

That's even more odd, because the link from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1726 points to a .dmg file with a single .pkg inside.

I don't know what's going on at apple. When I downloaded yesterday it gave me a .pkg file. So I downloaded the combo again and this time it gave me a .dmg, which matches the checksum on their page. I guess I'm running the installer again, hope the other installer didn't mess anything up.

Got this issue since first Mavericks release. For me only helps rebooting MBA 2013. So annoying....

Sluggish animations with external monitor

Since the update im having random lag in the system animations when i plug/unplug my led cinema display 27", this issue is caused because i disabled clamshell mode with the command sudo nvram boot-args="iog=0x0" if i change this the issue is fixed.

I have a Macbook pro 13" mid 2010 and the system runs better overall with the update
