Great, I updated, and now my third screen does not work anymore... I should have known

Same here. Im using a nMP and one display on a normal cable and 2 using active adapters. Has worked fine since I got my nMP...

And in which way exactly should they have put it?

According to Apple's own User Interface Guidelines, buttons should have verb names, action-oriented names. They buttons themselves should be enough to decide what to do. Instead, when using Yes/No buttons, the user is forced to read the entire dialog text and then make a decision about whether they need to click Yes or No.

From their guidelines:
Using a more focused button name, such as Erase, Convert, Clear, or Delete, helps make sure that users understand the action they’re taking.

In the example dialog that I provided in my original post, the buttons could've been named "Keep Episodes" and "Delete After Played".

I am also not getting the new scaled display preference, but the old one with list of available resolutions, on my UHD TV. I guess the 4k support is half-assed.

Exactly. The update only says it "improves" 4K display support. That's a pretty meaningless statement. All this time and not much, if anything is better. And Apple is the company that started the Retina 'movement'. Not good.

Love the USB Sync. I don't feel that I have a right to put other people's contact information in the cloud.

Exactly the same setup here, nMP, 2 active dvi adaptors and 1 normal... Hope they fix this soon, can't imagine working on only 2 screens for long...

Interesting. They really don't seem to want you to look at the Users folder. Though you can go there using cmd-shift-G.

hey bud  your wifi problem worries me.. wifi implants have yet to pass FCC approval and may not be suitable for all, This is most likely the cause of your problem and I doubt that this software update will help you out. You should probably have this surgically removed before you keep hurting yourself.

You're really not clever at all.

Missing Users Folder: FIX

My /Users folder went missing from Finder on my MBP (Late 2013). Got it back running: sudo chflags nohidden /Users

Didn't happen with my Mac Pro (mid 2010). Odd..

Theres been one on the 15in rMBP. Everytime it wakes from sleep it has trouble connecting. I usually have to turn it on and off before it connects.

Back in the early 2000s, Mac Airport (now called Wi-Fi) used to connect to wifi networks immediately. It was a beautiful thing. Something changed over the years and now Wifi connections can be annoyingly slow. There's been several new generations of 802.11 since then, so it probably needs to do a lot more work to detect and negotiate networks, not to mention an explosion in the number of overlapping networks surrounding us these days.

My advice would be to visit System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced and ensure you've only saved networks that you actively use. If the list of saved networks grows too long, it creates a lot more work for the computer to pick a preferred network.

So was this fixed in 10.9.3? Yes or no? Reports, please. I downgraded to ML because of this (and other outstanding) issues, and if this one has been fixed, maybe I'll re-upgrade. Maybe.

Nope, it's the problem that Macbook can't reconnect to wifi after waken up from sleep and people with the issue have to turn wifi off and on to reconnect. I have this issue on my late 2013 MBPr.

Is anyone else having trouble with dual monitors and a 2013 rMBP in clamshell mode?

My setup:

Late 2013 rMBP 15" w/ NVIDIA 750M clamshell mode
Apple Thunderbolt Display @ best for display
Dell UP2414Q (MiniDisplay Port, running on DisplayPort 1.2) @ best for display

On 10.9.2, I could use both monitors.

Since upgrading to 10.9.3, I can only use the Thunderbolt Display OR Dell UP2414Q. I cannot use both at the same time. I've verified this behavior by:

1) Plugging in both displays
2) Unplugging the Dell - the Thunderbolt Display becomes active.
3) Plugging in the Dell and unplugging the Thunderbolt Display - Dell becomes active

(No reboots/logouts occurred between the steps, and I've verified that both Thunderbolt ports are working.)

I've already tried reseting the NVRAM and SMC.

I've tried it a few times, seems better but not as quick as it has been previously.

Before, I'd have a WiFi connection almost instantly, then pre-10.9.3 it was 2-3-5 seconds, now on my limited number of samples it's around a second.

Speaking Safari, it very frustrating to watch Safari start to load a url and then stop. Happens a lot. Have to hit the stop button and then the refresh button again, to get it to completely load.

So I am not the only one which has this issue since what ... forever.
It just happened again replying to your post, annoying.

Not in my memory, Airport back then was not without its issues, even worse, plenty of kernel panics!

You know what's telling about these "xxx MB on a 2011 MBP" posts that have almost become a meme here because it's always a 2011 MBP?

How many people are still on Sandy Bridge 2011 MacBooks and are completely satisfied with their performance/seemingly don't have plans to upgrade (based on how long the posts have been going on, and not decreasing in number).

Actually for an average user an Intel C2D with an SSD is more than enough for everything. :) A couple of years ago we've reached a certain level where performance doesn't really matter anymore to 99% of the users, simply because the difference is unnoticeable. I'm also planning to keep my 2011 MBA for a few more years because it's perfect for everything I need. The only thing that could make me consider an update is a Retina MBA, but then I'd rather wait at least one generation until possible glitches are smoothed out. Fortunately Apple is not violently forcing Mac users to upgrade - the fact that you can install Mavericks even on a 2008 MBP/MBA is quite cool.

Bad Apple

Screen Sharing on a headless Mac Mini server is still unusable. Seems like it should be an easy (and completely obvious) thing to fix.

Exactly the same setup here, nMP, 2 active dvi adaptors and 1 normal... Hope they fix this soon, can't imagine working on only 2 screens for long...

Ive tried using 2 normal cables and 1 active adapter with no luck. I really have 4 displays normally hooked up with 2 being active and 2 passive but have started troubleshooting with 3, so I am left without 2 :(

Interesting. They really don't seem to want you to look at the Users folder. Though you can go there using cmd-shift-G.

Soon you will only be able to use Mac App Store apps and the documents contained within those apps! No more fooling with system settings or data files!
