You can even go as far back as 2007 for the MBP and iMac!

Actually for an average user an Intel C2D with an SSD is more than enough for everything. :) A couple of years ago we've reached a certain level where performance doesn't really matter anymore to 99% of the users, simply because the difference is unnoticeable. I'm also planning to keep my 2011 MBA for a few more years because it's perfect for everything I need. The only thing that could make me consider an update is a Retina MBA, but then I'd rather wait at least one generation until possible glitches are smoothed out. Fortunately Apple is not violently forcing Mac users to upgrade - the fact that you can install Mavericks even on a 2008 MBP/MBA is quite cool.

What are your wifi issues? Crappy router?

Same issue with multiple routers with multiple ISPs in multiple locations. The Internet connection stops working erratically even though it's still connected. There are threads about this on Apples support forums and no one has any idea how to fix it. Same issue on my Air and Retina both after updating to Mavericks. Well my Retina came with Mavericks.

I have a 13" MBP 2011 and upgraded from 10.9.2 to .3 and my user folders are still visible....

I did not think to check first to confirm, but I noticed when I did a permissions repair in Disk Util it changed the permissions of both the Users and Shared folders and now they are both hidden in Finder. So I suspect if you repair permissions you will find they get hidden.

Well here we go again, just like any update before this. i'll wait a week before updating, my mac has been working fine.

Will my Logitech Webcam work now?

Lots of people were left flat-footed when they learned that their web cam didn't work after the last upgrade. Has this issue been resolved?

My users folder has been staying visible for the last couple of updates I think at least since 10.9.2 forward.

Same here. That is weird. Must be a mistake. I can see hiding the user library (though I don't like it and change it almost immediately) but not the Users folder.

Seems like Finder is just a little faster but not as fast as 10.8.5.

What do you mean? I click Macintosh HD, click on Users, then on my home folder, the I see all my sub folders.

Screen Sharing on a headless Mac Mini server is still unusable. Seems like it should be an easy (and completely obvious) thing to fix.

What's your definition of unusable? I just updated two headless minis just fine...

Optimizing your Mac

Seems Apple is now notifying users when the OS decides it's necessary to perform some harddrive thrashing maintenance.

I've always wondered what all that harddrive thrashing was about after reboots and updates.

Do a permissions repair in Disk Util and see if it hides /Users. Mine appears to have done that.

iTunes still stalls "Sending info to Apple"

I was hoping this update would finally fix the annoying error where iTunes match gets stuck "Sending information to Apple."

But no.

Build Number...

Can someone (Not on either Beta program) please tell me the build number of this new update.

Is it 13D61 or is it higher than the one they sent to the stores?

Thanks in advance,

Spiffff

Now that the local sync is back, I guess I will upgrade, if it's not rotten anymore.

Because networking fails with the latest Mountain Lion, forcing me to reboot.

Besides the sync, what else was a downgrade with Mavericks?

Yup, I've reported that issue to Apple. It happens far too often and quite often requires that I Sign Out, and then Sign In again. Frustrating.

Stil can't update email accounts with iTunes

I was also hoping that they would return the ability to add or update email accounts on my iPhone through iTunes. It used to be that iTunes would check your email accounts and you could tell it to add or update specific accounts.

As it is now, the only way to add or update email account settings on your phone is to manually type in the info.

What do you mean? I click Macintosh HD, click on Users, then on my home folder, the I see all my sub folders.

All I see are the following three folders when I click on Macintosh HD:

Applications, Library, and System. My user account link is still in the sidebar. It was set to show my Library folder. But after updating from 10.9.2 to 10.9.3 I had to re-enable it using Command-J and clicking the box.

Same here. Im using a nMP and one display on a normal cable and 2 using active adapters. Has worked fine since I got my nMP...

Does two screens work in 10.9.3? I have a nMP, one passive 27" dell (mDP to DP cable).. and one active 24" dell - with Dual DVI converter to mDP..

Hopefully it fixes wifi printing that broke with 10.9.2. It was working fine with 10.9.1.
