No doubt. Now you just need to figure out a way to bump it up the priority list in and amongst the 1000s (or more) items that may be ahead of it ;)

Yeah, it likely isn't considered major enough by Apple over security issues that might be there, wi-fi issues that they seem to be doomed to have a lot, and so forth. And I really don't blame them.

My biggest issue is when people say "well, I don't shut down so nobody should shut down".

Thanks! Just what I was hoping to hear. Really looking forward to the functional improvements and hoping Jony Ive gives Mavericks a UI overhaul similar to the refresh being developed for iOS 7.

I hope Jony Ive leaves OS X alone.

Have DP3 installed for a few hours now.
First impression: good release.

Fixes I've seen so far:
- Dock can now be moved reliably between screens (worked sporadically in DP2)
- Safari properly renders websites (DP2 on some websites showed video memory garbage)
- In Safari, links and images dragged to the desktop now appear on the desktop instantly

10.9 in general is still snappy and much more fluid than 10.8

The bugs I still see:
- Finder still takes a long time to connect to other PCs over LAN
- Zoom still stutters at the beginning (use command + alt + "+"/"-")

I still think this is going to be the best release since Tiger and I am certainly going to upgrade from ML the second 10.9 is out the door.

I already tried to empty the cache, but nothing.. fix?

The one where you press the 'shut down' button and go make a cup of tea and it's still shutting down.

oh right, i have a different shutdown problem. My dock half disappears and the screen freezes for 10 seconds showing the desktop wallpaper and then it shuts down, any ideas?

OK, so does the new Maps app finally allow your friggin' laptop to figure out where it is? I thought that the original iPhone used some WiFi data pinging to locate your phone as a part of "assisted" GPS. I want my damn laptop to know where it is *automatically* so that, for example, it can set it's own damn clock without my help.

I love Apple, but for pity's sake, this should be a no-brainer by now. It's called a laptop, even if it *is* too hot to sit on your lap, but it used to be called a portable, meaning you could take it with you somewhere *other* than your desk/office/house. Come on, now! Figure it out!

It already does that, since forever. Probably since Lion. At least for me.

This is not a shut down problem... It's the UI problem... :p:p

Haven't you notice...? Whenever new icons are added onto the Dock by an installer, or when you force restart the Dock via Terminal command, your desktop background sort of like flickers in the background (or disappears to the background). The same problem appears on Mountain Lion and Mavericks. Snow Leopard has no such problem.

I give you another instance. If you have access to Snow Leopard to compare with Mavericks (or the 2 Lions), try hitting Cmd+N REPEATEDLY AND FAST on both Finder and Safari. You will know what I'm saying. The UI on Lion onwards is just trash...

Somewhere along the line when they develop Lion, Apple screwed up big-time the "fluidity" of the user interface.

This is not a bug, it's a feature. The system needs time to end all running processes before shutdown.

Actually quitting processes is very quick and easy, for all of you who used Snow Leopard know what I am talking about.

The thing is that in Mountain Lion, the OS is no longer closing the applications but instead putting them in a suspended state that takes up considerable more time.

I was hoping they would remove the feature in Mavericks, but since the air, retina and even mac pros all have SSD storage (that can more easily handle quickly saving suspended state data), I did not think it was likely, but I could hope that they may have found a better way to handle suspended states by using temporary repositories in correlation with the versions that they already have implemented.

Does they fixed the new Skype or we still have to use the old version? What about flash player?

I hope Jony Ive leaves OS X alone.

I like the consistency and stylishly simple, yet elegant, aesthetic he's brought to iOS 7 so far and hope to see the same level of consistency (if not the same design) brought to OS X. The lack of coherent design and functionality throughout the OS has been an irritant through virtually every iteration of OS X and iOS. I'm glad to see Apple finally making UI coherency a top priority.

I'm not aware of any circumstance where the use of an apostrophe to indicate a plural is correct. Feel free to correct me, with an appropriate citation from the Chicago Manual of Style or similar. Given you misspelt "you're" however, I'm not holding my breath...

The apostrophe is used to indicate possession when it is plural or ends with an s, but not just plural, you are right there. Granted the convention is not used a whole lot anymore either way.

Definite improvements. There was one website that I couldn't access with Safari on DP1 and DP2. It wouldn't crash, just never finished loading. Now on DP3 is jumps right to it without issue.

It never had an apostrophe. It is the name of a location in California, which is the new theme for OS X names.

Well, I guess this has already been done to death, but here is a link to a story of the place: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mavericks_(location)

That's fine, and this is obviously something that's a big deal to you. Personally, I'm not interested in providing (or trying to provide) excuses for anyone, just telling you why it's happening. Take it however you want. While it's great to come to this forum and vent, your problem is really getting it to be a priority with Apple.

As a user and customer, you don't care about the software development process. That makes sense. However, that doesn't make the process less complex nor does it make your priority Apple's current focus for their resources, unfortunately (if only! :)).

Just saying: Anyone using a Mavericks Developer preview legally is not a "user and customer".
