Apple Releases OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 4, Public Beta Coming Later This Month

What's your first impression on iTunes 12 ? The current iTunes is pretty slow so I was hoping 12 isn't. Even though it's a beta version it might be better/faster.

I imagine that Preview 4 is a candidate build for the Public Beta, and they want to test it with developers first. Maybe we'll get it in a week if there aren't major issues.

Any word on Xcode 6 DP4 ? I just lost my Developer membership 6 days ago, which means I can install Yosemite DP4 and iOS 8 Seed 4 legitimately through Software Updates, but I got no chance about Xcode.

I doubt it. It looks like the same old iTunes to me, just with a new skin.

iTunes needs a Pages/Keynote/Numbers-style "start from scratch." Frankly, iTunes needs it more than iWork needed it.

Ugh. It's very clearly still iTunes, as we've known it. The massive overhaul of iTunes has to come eventually... Right?

I would guess in OSX 11, if there is an OSX 11. If I had to guess apple will stop their yearly releases to work on major overhauls?

No, there's a drop down menu that lets you choose between: Song List, Albums, Artists, Genres and Composers. And more options.

It looks exactly what I expected it to look like, the same interface but with Yosemite-style controls. Don't know what people were expecting...

No, it's not the right time.

Public betas have to be released when the product is in its final state and there's no possibility that major bugs tarnish the reputation of the company. Apple is known for their quality so much that each time I tell someone that my iOS 8 beta has a bug and cannot do this and that, people go like "that's the problem with Apple" and I can't make them understand that this is a private beta. Imagine a public...

Anyone confirm that when you have multiple TV Shows, that each Season has its own artwork displayed - even though its group together as a show. I still hate it in the current iTunes, that a TV Show will display the "last" Season artwork overall, even if you click through the previous one. Biggest thing that annoyed me and hope it gets fixed with iTunes 12.

Hoping for the "dark" theme to make iTunes bearable. Way too much empty white screen on that "new" look. Dark grey or black please - and of course speed.

iTunes release is like Safari, independent of OS. You'll get it on OS X and Windows alike.

Well that seems to be a let down as I was hoping that they would expand Dark Mode to the windows and other UI elements.
