I couldn't get Remote for iOS to work with 10.10 DP3, so I'm guessing it definitely won't work with iTunes 12?

Is there a beta available for a newer version of Remote?

'Elegant new design'...its BLOODY AWFUL looking!

And before you go on, yes I know its beta. I do like the look of Yosemite but yuck!

What's bloody awful about it? It looks too boring to even qualify as awful.

No, it's not the right time.

Public betas have to be released when the product is in its final state and there's no possibility that major bugs tarnish the reputation of the company. Apple is known for their quality so much that each time I tell someone that my iOS 8 beta has a bug and cannot do this and that, people go like "that's the problem with Apple" and I can't make them understand that this is a private beta. Imagine a public...

Any word on Xcode 6 DP4 ? I just lost my Developer membership 6 days ago, which means I can install Yosemite DP4 and iOS 8 Seed 4 legitimately through Software Updates, but I got no chance about Xcode.

Xcode 6 beta 4 is out, as well.

For the Xcode 6 DP4, you can go here and download: https://developer.apple.com/swift/resources/

It shouldn't be needing any Developer memberships.

Oh thanks a lot ! I'll renew it when I have to release my app or test iTunes Connect stuff, it makes more sense to me.

Edit : My favorite fix :
Xcode now supports //MARK:, //TODO: and //FIXME landmarks to annotate your code and
lists them in the jump bar. (14768427)

I mean, finally the marks are back !

New dark mode checkbox.
I think now it's clear that dark mode will be limited to the dock & menubar.

That would be a real shame. I was really excited for the dark mode, but when limited to the dock and menubar it's just ugly. I'd really appreciate it if they could also add a dark tint to the transparent window chrome, at least.

The checkbox was there in the last beta too.

I don't think it's indicative one way or the other. Changing all the controls is a lot of work, and there was evidence that they were doing just that a few betas ago. Either they changed their minds, or it's just not done yet.

It's not a complete redesign. Just a new Yosemite skin, it works exactly the same.

The last build it looked different. A drop down box. The new one is more definitive.

iTunes release is like Safari, independent of OS. You'll get it on OS X and Windows alike.

I know it is. But will it still have the same look? Some iOS apps look different depending on which version of iOS you're using and I'm wondering if it will be the same here, since the look is drastically different.

This is what I was expecting as well. BS move from Apple lol

I would guess in OSX 11, if there is an OSX 11. If I had to guess apple will stop their yearly releases to work on major overhauls?

"Never" is a long time, but I'm not sure we'll ever see OS X 11. Seems to me they're getting away from numbers: It will just be "OS X Yosemite" and "OS X Malibu" and so on for marketing purposes, and "10.10", "10.11", "10.12" and so on for internal versioning.

Whenever it's time for a massive change along the lines of the OS 9-OS X transition, there will be a totally new name for the Mac operating system.

netflix HTML5

has anyone been able to test the html5 netflix streaming in Yosemite? If so, has anyone been able to test it on older machines? really curious to know if my 2007 MBP will support this feature...

Edit: I was wrong. Looks like Apple definitely changed their minds on this one...

They updated hierarchy and replaced drop down functions. iTunes store is a tab instead of a toggle.

Didn't Apple redesign iTunes in 2012? Not saying it was the redesign people wanted but also not surprised that this is just more of a visual change to bring it in line with Yosemite.

Finally. I hated the drop downs for apps and music and videos. Love that I can enter iTunes store without leaving the rest of the UI!
