If anyone wants to use Xcode 6 with Yosemite DP 6, put on your brakes. Xcode 6 beta 5 now just beachballs into oblivion and beta 6 is not available anymore. Most probably it will be fixed soon enough.

Also, my 2010 MacBook still randomly decides to stop stop working over internet (wifi connection is fine). Then it comes back on but after some time the cycle repeats.

Please don't spread FUD, the background is not blurred if the Dashboard is in the desktop overlay mode.

I didn't know that - then I take it back, it's still a useful tool. The article didn't make it clear that the option to have it as an overlay was still there.

More signals to me that beta 6 will be tomorrow or 6PMEST and something went wrong. Handoff OF APPS is not backwards compatible (thanks for that :apple:) this makes no sense

Chris Lattner just mentioned on the dev forums that Xcode beta 6 will be up when they fix the code signing issue. Didn't mention if they are planning on releasing it today though.

Yeah I'm thinking 6PMEST is the final deadline for today IMO

Guys, I am back to 10.9.5 now. Can I just install the DP6 Delta update (1.17 GB) over 10.9.5?

If it was up to me, they could get rid of the entire dashboard in Yosemite. Nearly all the apps you find for it are old/outdated and look terrible. THe new support for apps in the notification bar is better and if they removed the other, they could force developers to update it to the notification center.

no when i had to do that for a buddy we were on DP4 i had to go 1--->4 :mad::mad: and let me specify by saying the link i D/L'd was for DP4 it installed 1.

I saw here someone mentioned the DP5 was a full update but the file I have is 1.12GB again delta update. . So, I have to install all DP5 starting from 1? Or, I have to find the full DP5 (> 5 GB size) ?

These new icons and pastel tones feels like kid playground, same as iOS 7 etc...
i think it can be done better, i do not say that skeuomorphism is better.

I think it can be done better and more future like. Now it looks in design perspective - something between the way it should need to look...

My feelings is that Apple is seeking a way to new design, but not founded it yet!

The same way when Apple in past designed it first iMac's
(it is hard to design something new (non seen before) and this is hard way to go, hope they are thinking on this. ) ;)

Wow, I'm very annoyed.

The option to keep the menubar opaque, while enabling translucency in other areas of the OS, has been discontinued. The 'translucent menubar' option in Wallpapers/Screensavers has been eliminated. The only way to make the menubar opaque now is to disable translucency for the whole OS in Accessibility>Display.

I don't want this at all. I hate how they bundled the settings rather than having them separate, like in DP5 and beneath. That reminds me of iOS 7 limiting settings with reduce motion and parallax - you'd have to choose one or another, no per-settings allowed.

Now, I've got my menubar translucent (which I don't want), and it seems like this isn't even configurable using Terminal commands, because updating from DP5 to DP6 changed my menubar from opaque to translucent. If I turn off translucency, the menubar goes opaque, but I don't want this. The trash can on the dock looks too white and weird with translucency turned on. I wanted the settings to remain separate.

Very annoyed. I'm filing a bug report, but please, if this annoys you, do the same.

if you find the full DP5 (which i was unaware that was a full update) then I'm sure you could just go 5----6.

I disagree, I don't really like the notification bar. If you are on a 13" monitor, you can barely see anything without scrolling. Not to mention, you have to click on the tab after you invoke the sidebar. With Dashboard I can see everything and dismiss it with one button.

I don't use many widgets though, just Delivery Status (still frequently updated, it's awesome) Weather, and stickies. If Dashboard goes away, which it probably will, I'll survive.

Even the previous transparency settings were bundled too much. There should be two separate toggles:
1. Menubar
2. Window Chrome

I want the reverse settings as you (translucent menu bar, opaque chrome), which has always been impossible.

I also hate how the new volume/brightness is tied into the transparency setting. The nontransparent version looks atrocious.

I'd be fine using it in night mode permanently if they'd just fix the creepy Finder icon and give me back the 3D Dock.
