This update stalled after the first reboot at 22 minutes and then completely hosed the Yosemite partition.
It knows which mouse you have, too.

Isn't this when Dashboard is it's own space. In mavericks it was some brownish background.
If you select dashboard not being it's own space does it still blur the desktop out?
You can now toggle the smart search field in Safari to show the entire web site path not just the base domain.
This makes me happy!

...but where can you change this pref afterwards?
So no iOS8 beta today? This is rough....
My gosh those folder icons look hideous. I'm not a fan of some of the new icons in general but the folder icons take the crown, they are just plain horrible.
The general interface of sidebars and small icons are monochrome, why make the folder icons such hideous neon color that just looks out of place and distracting?
It's hard to describe but it seems they just lack definition/contrast and the color is just looks out of place.

Erm, no.
Nothing condescending about it. If you mean Yosemite, you write Yosemite. Plain and simple. Now if you want to talk about needless and inappropriate, I'd have to say your "I don't like Mavericks" post takes the cake. If you aren't willing to say what you don't like, you are just wasting space.Obviously I meant Yosemite. But well done on the needless and inappropriate condescension.
How exactly is it any worse compared to the brown background OS X Mavericks has?So they've totally removed all usefulness of Dashboard by blurring the background... brilliant.
I don't see the new drive icons. My external USB disk drive still has the USB icon and is rounded. What gives? :|
Did you ever replace them using Get Info? If so: choose get info on a drive, select the icon and press backspace to remove the custom icon.I'm not seeing new hard drive / portable drive icons on my end. Is there a way to reset the icon cache?
Nothing jumped out at me...Have you looked under the App Store settings in System Preferences?
(not at my DP mac at the moment to verify..)
I didn't like them at first either but after a while you just kind of get used to it. It's more like I forget what they used to look like until I look at my desktop running Mavericks. I think it fits within the entire operating system though.

I have mine set to overlay instead of as space and it doesn't blur the desktop.
