Last beta had serious wifi issues, seems to be fixed now.

But the Finder is giving me issues, two finger click does not show a sub menu, and it interferes with all Apps, for instance, when I was writing this post the sub menu shows up multiple times, didn't go away until I manually quit Finder, starts again now so it's not 100% Finder but it gets less, barely usable now.

I will try to start without startup Items, see if that makes a difference.

I have the wifi issue back now with DP7. .. With PB2 - no issues with the wifi

I am getting this at every reboot. Not that I have calendar open. I force quit, and all is back to normal. Any idea guys?

I am experiencing issues with copying and moving files from and to different folders in Finder.
Finder just crashes and cannot copy anything. Interesting enough it seems to be working when copying stuff from the desktop. Drag & drop seems to be working some times too.
Using Path Finder everything works properly, so it is not a permission issue..
Any ideas?
I have reseted the plist Finder file, but still nothing. If I create a new account then Finder doesn't crash, so it must be something in my profile bothering it..

Is calendar configured to launch at login? Check and see if the service is being launched directly or by another app.

No, it is stock untouched. I rarely ever open calendar on the Mac, I mostly use iPhone for that. I checked Login Items, nothing but the standard iTunes Helper. This has begun after DP7, though. I have not faced this kind of an issue ever before in any Beta, ML, Mavericks, and Yosemite, up till this DP7.

I force quit calendar and all is fine. Oh and one more thing, while the Activity Monitor shows Calendar, there is no dot under calendar.

Unfortunately if you update to v. 0.9981 from v. 0.998 then you loose those Mimicking Standard Gestures. I have looked through every option (and I could of easily missed it) but for the life of me, I couldn't find this Gesture that i rely on and is my most used, so if you still want them, DONT update to v. 0.9981 or turn off Automatic Updates.

See my other post (#282), I am using the current alpha and those two gestures work. Download them via the link I supplied, and add them, for some reason it still works.

thanks a lot its working now appreciate ur help is there any more useful finder gestures u know about that you can share i have just startes using btt so still in stage of finding what can be done

Any times. I can't state I've used BTT for much more beyond Finder gestures. Most of what OS X has works for what I need. The only thing I could recommend is "TotalSpaces" by BinaryAge. The developer started out solo, bringing OS X 10.5/6 "Spaces" and "Exposé" to 10.7+. "Mission Control" completely changed OS X workflow, and a lot of people missed the old system. BinaryAge took the developer, Stephen, under their wing. You can test ver. 2 beta for Yosemite here.

"Control Center" by Cindori is another good app. It's an iOS style control center that you can tweak for easy access to settings, system stat's (like iStat Menus), tweaks, iTunes/Spotify/Radium/Rdio controls, etc. The panel is completely user configurable.

Check "Console" reports (in "Utilities" folder), there may be a plugin causing errors or check whatever service you are using for your Calendar account (sometimes people who use their Gmail accounts as their main "iCloud" account or in general for Calendars have a lot of difficulty).

Not really able to pinpoint it. I guess I shall have to live with it till the next DP.. :D

All I need do is force quit calendar from ActMon each time I reboot.

There are some, in fact, I think there are quite many things going on there that don't seem right. I am not able to pinpoint what is wrong.. apart from this issue, nothing else seems to be going wrong with this update. So.. just a perk of beta software I guess!

Finder right-click menu

Anyone else seeing that the two options "Compress" and "Burn" are in bold text, while everything else is not?

It's more apparent on a non-Retina screen, but here's what I'm seeing:

After a bit of troubleshooting I found out that Finder crashes when copying files even when using a brand new user account. Even in Safe Mode Finder crashes. This is a new bug that wasn't there on previous betas.

Yes, I can confirm that on my iMac.

Lync Issues

FYI-

For giggles, I downloaded Communicator 2011 and installed it along with Lync. All of my Lync issues have gone away in Communicator. I can close Communicator without doing a Force Close, I can transfer files, and I can edit preferences.

Not sure what features in Lync 2011 I'm missing out on, but the basics seem to be there and so far it seems more stable than Lync.

Might be worth a shot for those who are having insurmountable Lync 2011 issues.

I can't help you but I opened your picture left it open full screen. I went to do some things came back and was pissed because I couldn't open my iMessage, see what update or FaceTime call I had. Thanks for the laugh!!

It has happened to me too off and on .... :D

Worst DP ever, had lots of issues before a restart, after a restart it won't boot anymore, had trim enabler, the dev said it will survive an update, guess what, NOT.

Luckily my second HD booted without issues, on DP6, last time I enabled trim both partitions didn't boot, this was before Trimenabler updated his app and said it would survive the next update.

Edit: Did some terminal commands and it booted again, trim is on.
Seems like the other issues have gone as well, somehow my disk was almost full, deleted a lot of stuff and it seems to be better, also ran Diskwarrior, could have made a difference as well.

I wonder if what Apple does with trim is even illegal (in Europe) , why oh why do they have to revert file(s) with every update so that if you have it enabled and you have a 3rd party SSD it won't boot!

It is quite apparent on a retina screen too. I am sure that what we see bold is the normal text but everything else is washed out.

I am using PB2 and by comparing DP7 with PB2, i strongly believe that there is something wrong with sub-pixel rendering in this release or could it be that this is the new text? if it is then, it is horrible!!!

see this thread for more details:

iTunes isn't detecting my iPhone 5S (its set to sync over wifi). Only my iPad. Anyone else have this problem?

When clicking on the apple, i noticed there's no option to check for software updates.

WOOO. For some reason in the last DP the menu started slightly overlapping the menu bar and it looks like they changed it back. That really annoyed me.

----------

Finders sidebar selection is now the same darker translucency which they included for Reminders, etc in DP6 and I like it more than the blue.

This is nice but I wish it was blue when selecting and then transparent when you click off of it.

In Dark Mode, the selected menu bar/action turns a white/gray instead of blue in the previous DPs.

EDIT: They added a Force Quit App option to the Apple menu as well. If in Safari, it becomes Force Quit Safari. In Finder, Force Quit Finder.

Is the highlight color still blue for the light right click menus?

----------

You don't have to have darkmode on..it's optional..

Yeah but some people like darkmode, just not when it has a ugly out of place spotlight.
