I'm *guessing* thats because memory is not user-servicable on the rMBP, since its soldered to the logic board.

I thought about that. It was always available in both Mountain Lion and Mavericks. But since it’s soldered in and can’t be changed, it kind of makes sense.

App store button is gone from notification center.

Has anyone noticed/mentioned that the Software Update option is now missing from the Apple menu? It used to have both App Store and Software Update, but it looks like it’s been combined to just show "App Store..."

You can do this with BetterTouchTool.

In "Finder", configure Trackpad Gesture for "Two Finger Swipe Left" and Assigned Action/Shortcut to "3F Swipe Left (Page Back)" and repeat the same for "Two Finger Swipe Right".

Make sure any 3F gestures in Trackpad System Preferences are disabled as it will interfere. I change them to 4 finger, which works perfectly.

Unfortunately if you update to v. 0.9981 from v. 0.998 then you loose those Mimicking Standard Gestures. I have looked through every option (and I could of easily missed it) but for the life of me, I couldn't find this Gesture that i rely on and is my most used, so if you still want them, DONT update to v. 0.9981 or turn off Automatic Updates.

In the new Yosemite spotlight window it seems truncation begins at 30-35 characters, while in Mavericks it started at 40-45.

I really really really dislike text truncation. Especially when it can be avoided. It seems to me Apple could do something here to fix it such that results would show a longer filename.

I could think of a few options to fix this, one is, perhaps the results/preview panes could be user-resizable?

Anybody gotten iMovie to work?

Seems to be a lost cause for me. Worked fine in Mavericks ... nothing since Yosemite.

iMovie seems to work fine here.. I'd move iMovie.app to the trash, and re-download it from the app store. That might fix it up.

It might just be me, but the expose animation feels smooth now.

And they fixed the grey box message sharing bug.

Haven't checked on my other reported bugs

Updated to find my iMessages disabled. Got this window when I typed in my correct password into Messages > Accounts.

"Contact support…" takes me to a web page asking me to call AppleCare in my country with a separate code. What the actual…??

If anyone has a mac pro or knows of a way to get an external mic to work with their system please let me know. I've been having a lot of trouble making calls from my tower with any type of mic I use. If it's either the newer ear buds or even a web cam with a mic or just a desktop mic.

I can't believe it..

I actually think Apple's finally made their OS nott crash :) all my apps work.

It's nothing short of a miracle..... Only took 'em 10 years...

The Today view can't replace all the Dashboard use cases. For instance, on my Dashboard I have:

* Weather
* Stocks
* iStat Pro
* Dictionary
* World Clocks
* Astronomy Pic of the Day
* Calendar

iStat, Dictionary, APOD, and to an extent World Clocks can't be easily put into small widgets housed within a vertical stripe. iStat takes up half the page vertically, Dictionary's definitions would be cramped/scrolling, APOD is too wide, and having a large number of World Clocks would be unwieldy. I mean, yes, you could find solutions for all those, but they wouldn't result in great user experiences.

I hit F19 and instantly I have all that right in front of me. I have no interest in the Today View, as it's not even useful on iOS. Though that has more to do with the UX and design than the concept itself.

Did you know Bjango makes iStat Menus now so you can get access to all the stat information from the widget and more from the menu bar?

By "now" you mean since 10.0 right? ;)

I have no idea, have you always been able to right-click on the Dock?

The only reason I found it was because they had removed the options from the Apple Menu that I've used for years so I just tried right-clicking the dock, I had never seen that before.

I just upgraded my rMBP to Yosemite today (DP7). I have lost almost all of my Mail rules. I had about 40, now there are only 7 in the list. Can I restore them from a Time Machine backup? If so, where are they located in Mail/OS X?

I surely don’t want to have to recreate them all again.

That icon is showing for me in Safari "General". I've noticed that for some reason some installs show new icons while some show older ones. I took screen shots from the CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources. Some of them are new, some old.

Also, I can't find location services. I recall they were present somewhere in System Preferences, but I've checked every one and nada.

Lastly, Handoff and Continuity has been working between my nMac Pro6,1 and iPhone 5S all on the latest beta's, now it's not and it's activated on all of them. Very odd. The last DP caused some serious issues with my WiFi and certain System Preferences, when I came back from a month overseas my Mac Pro was FUBAR'ed. Those are fixed but now other issues are present.

Odd, the last alpha build isn't showing that pre-definied gesture. I attached the saved presets, download them and add them into BTT, they'll still work.

BTT 2 Finger Finder Gestures
thanks a lot its working now appreciate ur help is there any more useful finder gestures u know about that you can share i have just startes using btt so still in stage of finding what can be done

Last beta had serious wifi issues, seems to be fixed now.

But the Finder is giving me issues, two finger click does not show a sub menu, and it interferes with all Apps, for instance, when I was writing this post the sub menu shows up multiple times, didn't go away until I manually quit Finder, starts again now so it's not 100% Finder but it gets less, barely usable now.

I will try to start without startup Items, see if that makes a difference.

Edit: I cleared all the caches, logs and contents of /var/folders , seems to have solved it.
