Yes! All the glitches have been fixed for my install. WiFi working fully, certain System Preferences don't crash any more. Now, fix Safari history settings so that clearing all history doesn't log you out of auto-logged sites, deletes notification settings, requires constant re-verification for banks, etc. Private Browsing doesn't work for those who need history while working but simply need to clear it at the end of the work session/day.

They brought back the old iBooks icon which they changed in DP5/DP6 (Can't remember)

Looks the same as DP6.

I submitted this to Apple as well. I hate the way this works now. I just want to whack the list of sites I've visited without whacking cookies, logins, notifications, etc. At least give us the option to do either one, a full clean or just a history clean.

Yes totally serious. GM is released before announcement sometimes. Probly not the case this time but we can still hope.

The last iOS 8 Beta was Beta 5, which was released at the same time as OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 5.

When OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 6 was released on August 18, they did not release a iOS 8 Beta 6. Instead there was a update released to carriers for testing.

There will likely not be a iOS Beta 6 for developers. Instead there will be a Golden Master Candidate released to developers which will likely come the day of after the keynote. Then the official public release will follow after that probably a couple days before the next generation iPhones launch.

I'm sure there will still be some minor bugs when iOS 8 is released to public, but Apple is usually good at releasing iOS updates with big fixes following within a few weeks after that.

How stable is this at the moment? It looks really good and I can't wait -- but I ran Lion/ML early previews and learnt a tough lesson.

I use it for a few things, mostly the converter, calculator, and delivery status. It's nice to be able to access the converter while I can see the full screen behind it.

It's one of the reasons OS X is so potent: there are myriad ways to accomplish a task, which gives users the ability adapt the OS to their needs. In this way it is the antithesis of iOS, which is very rigid and controlling. I hope more OS X bleeds into iOS.

What annoys me from Dashboard is the inconsistency of the look of apps you stick there compared to the rest of the OS. And since that part of the OS seems to be ignored by Apple I don't feel developers will start updating their apps to fit a more standardized design language and look à la iOS.

Now you can choose Default for calls in Facetime Preferences. I can choose between Facetime and Skype

It looks like they updated the Safari Preferences notification icon to match the one they released for System Preferences in DP6. It is no longer the black square with red circle icon. They all seem to match now.

Usually GM is released before public release, most often it's the same build but developers get it beforehand to fully flesh out their OS X apps.

Yes, the GM is released the day of the iPhone Keynote, usually an hour or two after the keynote. The public release usually comes later in the week.

Craig Federighi has oversight for both OSX and iOS now. Rene Ritchie claims he's much more of an engineering geek than Scott Forstall was. I wouldn't be surprised if more of OSX does bleed into iOS, especially on the iPad side.

installed it over PB2 -- it works. But mentioned the WiFi Tz Rate issue is returned back--- the speed drops to 280 and jump to 1170/1300 after that again to 280.. with DP6 and PB2 -- it was stable non stop 1300 Mbps

Finally a new Dashboard icon and it's looking neat!

I think it's a bit clunky IMHO. The icons don't line up very nicely. The music icon is too far to the right, the airplane icon is plain ugly and too big. The gradient on the metallic ring is WAY too heavy and finally the dial is in the wrong place if it were to point at anything left or right it literally wouldn't and would cover the icon.

It's just bad plain bad, like literally not seen such bad graphic design in an apple icon in ages. Did I already say its BAD, so so bad.

Please APPLE you need to call in a graphic designer to oversee the whole project you clearly have someone with no eyes at all who is not looking anywhere in the direction of the project!!!! Please it's urgent.

The extensions icon is so bad too, i have never seen a puzzle piece with two straight sides. It's also a bit skeuromorphic considering that's what they're fighting against.

Yes, I do know this.

The GM will be released to devs after the event and to the public shortly after.
