I realize that. What I meant was it's not worth upgrading my AlBook, except for the fact that having a 4x Superdrive would sure be nice.macguymike said:They do have 4x Superdrive.

I know wouldn't want mine to be all "rusty looking" only after a few months worth of usage! Perhaps some of the stuff that is used on cars can also be applied to the current-line of Apple notebooks. Or has Apple actually refined the manufacturing process so that this does not occur any longer?![]()
HA! When pigs fly!
(((sigh))) They just don't make 'em like they used to, ala my 2000 Pismo which looks stellar after all of these years!![]()
At any rate, good update, I'll consider it.

All you have to do is call their 800 numbers and ask. Only the mail-order houses can give you the answer you need. Intelligent upgrades.dgoss said:I'm about to replace my ti-book and ibook with new offerings. I've always ordered from macconnection or macwarehouse to not have to pay sales tax (I'm in CA, about $400 on the two computers). Here's the question - I want to order the powerbook with the 128mb video and 5400 rpm options - is the Apple Store (sales tax) the only way to go? Have other mail-order places carried limited stock of upgraded models? Anyone have experience on this one? I'm dying to order but would love to figure this out first... thanks!
Diatribe said:You're talking about the corrosion that the Albooks are having problems with right? I don't think Apple can adress this problem with the current form factor. I am going to get some of these when I buy my pb.

I don't want to try if my sweat is making my pb corrode![]()

- GeForce 5200Go
- 10/100 MBit Ethernet
- FireWire 400 only.
- 1.25GB RAM max.
chabig said:I agree. It should have all of features of the larger models, AND a 17" display! What was Apple thinking?

TiArmor=EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!
This is EXACTLY what every Ti/Al PowerBook owner needs! And the price is right too! It's not too noticable either, which is terrific.
Thanks a lot!![]()

uv23 said:I am so sick and tired of all of this bitching about the graphics card in the 12"! I guarantee that nearly everyone complaining has never actually used a 12"PB, let alone owns one. I have a rev b 12" with the 32mb nvidia card and do significant photoshop work and some indesign work and have zero problems. Jumping up to 64mb will be even better! I am the farthest thing from an Apple apologist but for God's sakes, quit yer moaning!
