batt life (incl strange readings that seemed to go down then up without actually charging the phone) have been occurring the entire time since i was on pb1. along with the phone running hot at times when i wasn't using it. i'll see if things get back to "normal" after some time. right now the lag is 5-20 seconds to do just about anything on the phone.

What hardware are you on?

I won't put iOS11 on my phone until PB3 or 4 (and after I've figured out replacements for the few 32bit apps that won't run on 11), but I just put PB2 on my iPad and it's running quite well. Every once in a while I notice an animation jitter, but that's rare, and pretty much all other actions are as responsive as I would want them to be.

Public beta is not for me. I had to downgrade my iPad Air 2 back to iOS 10 because iOS 11 beta was choppy and laggy. I can't stand lag, especially on Apple devices because I specifically use Apple due to it being non-laggy.

I mean, the iPad Air 2 has an A8X chip. I know the A8 is a couple of years old, but it's still one hell of a SoC!

On my 12.9” iPad Pro (latest model), iOS 11 PB 2 is running much smoother than the previous beta. The Dropbox integration in the Files app allows you to browse Dropbox files, but not much else. Otherwise, everything seems to be running well.

What were your steps to get the current beta when the issue occurred? Just curious for others. For me, I have just done updates normally from 10.3.2 to 10.3.3 beta to 11 beta. I am on the developer profile. No major issues.

Same path. 10.3.2. 10.3.3 developer beta.

But, 11 developer beta 2 (PB1), 11 developer beta 3.

(Developer profile.)

Annoying new bug seems to have been introduced on my iPad Mini 4. Exit any app using home button and scroll towards the home/notification screen - on my device this causes the grey spinning wheel on a black background and then onto the login screen.
I can replicate on my 1st gen 12.9 Pro.

I'm at work and can't download yet. Can anyone with the UPS app and USAA app verify if they work? They don't in the first PB. Thank you!

UPS definitely still crashing. I don't have USAA on my iPad with the beta. I'd expect these need to be updated by their respective developers rather than expecting the beta to solve it.

Photos is problematic. It's lost 28000 photos....... grrrrrr.... frustrating.

I had that happen Monday, but then I left Photos open for a while and it updated and was whole once again.

Is anyone else on an iPad finding themselves still trying to "3D press" to get the X to close in App Switcher? In the short time the beta has been out, I've apparently become programmed to its quirks...

Also, has anyone found how to delete an apparent local copy of a file from iCloud Drive in the Files app? I tapped some PDFs to add to iBooks and they now seem to be downloaded locally (no more cloud icon on the thumbnails or in list view) and Delete does just that... deletes them from the iCloud folder and everything.

Using 6S+ but still no 3D touch app switch/close function. This the case for anyone else? Other than that, loving the app switcher and how it actually closes apps instead of the rudimentary buffoonery it had displayed in PB1.

Can’t download / redownload apps from the App Store.
iPP 12.9 2nd gen.

Signed out of the store and logged back in, rebooted, no success.

Thats BS. There were 6 betas and the final is like a GM build with version#, lack of feedback app and it was a full download. Really think they would just stop with that and wait til late fall to release software? Either you are trolling or whatever "Genius" you spoke to has no idea what they are talking about.
I'm gonna go with the latter ;)

Beta 2 randomly resets to the lock screen (not a reboot, looks like a crash, then asks for code).
I'm also unable to install apps now. When I click the 'get' or 'cloud' button the circle just spins.
Tried several reboots. *shrug*

It takes about a day or so to get any real reading on battery life. It takes a while for the OS to re-index everything for spotlight, start going through your photos to do all the extra deep-learning stuff, etc.

Gauging battery life on what it's doing that first several hours (or day) after an OS upgrade (especially a major one) isn't going to tell you anything.

I'm interested in any follow up over the coming days on how it fares. With beta 1 I experienced poor battery over a week or so before reverting back, I anticipate the initial indexing and stuff to create a drain.

Not quite random for me. Occurs when I close an app & then immediately scroll towards the home/notification screen. Very annoying.
