Just an update for you. Battery life is definitely close to normal levels again. Been using my iPhone liberally for the last three hours, and even playing 3D intensive games and its doing really well so far. Phone hasn’t gotten warm like it did with PB1. However using it with CarPlay is still a death sentence.

So yea I think it’s a marked improvement in terms of battery life over PB1, at least in my experience so far.
Sincerely Thank you! How are videos in safari? In beta 1 they always seemed to time out.

I loaded it on my 9.7 pro, and seems to really be much better than 1. There are still some incomplete functions (mainly in control center) from what few minutes I have actually played with it. But seriously thank you for taking the time to follow up.

Just installed the PB2 on my iPad Pro 9.7”.

Performance is still not par with release version but battery life / power consumption seems normal/very similar to 10.3.3

Really enjoying some of the changes and still trying to get used to new keyboard.

I never install the first beta of anything, I will wait for the second or third. I’ve used this all day and have had only a few issues, none of which break my main driver. The most irksome thing that’s not working right is I have Siri read me long news articles so I can listen to them on my airpods while doing other things. The text to speech is majorly messed up right now. Other than that everything works fine, just a bit laggy
How do you get Siri to read you articles? Is this from the news app?

The one showstopper bug that I found in the previous iOS 11 public beta — iCloud videos in the Folders app would play under a freeze frame — was fixed. This is seriously GM stuff now. I'm running it on my day to day iPad Pro.

Control Center is misbehaving for me on ipad 10.5 in PB2. Added accessibility icon to easily change to dark mode and back when using this, the icon disappears each time. Other icons like the alarm setting icon only start to work when moving out of the control center. This was all working fine in the previous beta.

[update] When removing the accessibility icon (smart invert) the behaviour of the other icons like alarm are working properly. Will keep this Smart Invert option away from the control center for now.

That annoying little glitch to home screen when opening an app from a folder is sorted, hopefully the ‘installing’ loader on folders with apps offloaded is also fixed.

This latest beta has improved things, But GM? you cannot be serious? It's got a fair way to go before that

If the App Store doesn't work for you (can't download / re-download apps), reset All Settings.
It's annoying, but it's the only way I could find to fix it (and the forums confirm this, too).

Hi all,

Long time reader, but just made an account to let you guys know that enabling iCloud Messages syncing on the current build (what you think would be a wifi-only feature) while on wifi, will continue to upload messages on cellular if you leave wifi range. I managed to burn through 2 gigs of uploads (and $20 bucks in excess cell usage) before I noticed.

Unsure if using cellular data for this is intended or a bug, but considering my messages are 2.5gigs, it seems insane that apple would risk the bad press of customers going over data caps.

Hope this saves you some cash due to my bad luck!

If I lock my screen for more than 30 minutes, my brand new iPad Pro 512Gb freezes. I have to reset the iPad to get into it. It is so frustrating to have to do a reset every time I want to use my iPad. Public Beta 1 did not have this issue.

Yikes this bricked my 1 month old iPad Pro 10.5. Upgraded to iOS 11 PB2 without any fuss but it was so glitchy I decided to downgrade back to 10.3 using iTunes. Stuck in the DFU loop and nothing would fix it.

I'm just back from the nearest Apple store now where they very kindly replaced it for me :)

I was able to discover that the 12.9 2017 iPad freezes when rotating the device on the lock screen. For now I have to disable screen rotation when locking the device. Bug report sent to Apple.

Welcome and thanks for the warning.

If you had the time/inclination to contact them, I'd bet Apple would refund your expense on this, if indeed it is a bug.

2.5 gigs of iMessages in one day?

That is some serious texting.

He was syncing all of his iMessages to the cloud - but didn't expect it to continue when he wasn't on WiFi.
Oh, now I get it.

Using the beta for a day...

Plus - feels more fluid, less bolted on if that makes sense. More intuitive (closing apps by swiping up)

Cons - More buggy then first PB. Screen seems to start to scroll when I am not touching anything. More lockups, responsiveness about the same which is sluggish.

This is on my 2015 12.9 iPad Pro. Not ready to try it on the phone.

Hey guys, just installed the new beta. I just used my phone to stream something to my appletv. But for some reason I can't get it out of airplay mode. The top of the phone has a blue bar and the airplay logo is on the top right. Anyone having this issue ? Not sure what to do.. thanks.

Have you tried turning it on and off again?

I use Downcast for listening to podcasts. That app would crash 2-3 times an hour under PB1. Hasn't crashed once since installing PB2.

One thing I noticed. I have a pair of Bluetooth Beats headphones at work. I came into work Tuesday and today and the battery was dead in them. I usually only have to charge these things every couple weeks. Is, or was, there an iOS 11 bug that could cause this? Only had these headphones a couple months. Hope they are dying already.
