Apple Releases Second Public Betas of iOS 13 and iPadOS

You can, but it won't prevent you from installing the final version.
It is good housekeeping practice though to remove unused profiles.

Got it. Thank you very much. Just finished installing the 2nd PB. Installing the second public beta left only the current profile.

Installed PB2 on iPad Air 3... I was considering uninstalling the beta, but I like testing and checking out the new features. The more I use it, the more bugs I discover. They seem to have fixed the issue with on screen keyboard displaying in the middle of the screen in messages. I just noticed the floating “iPhone sized keyboard” is unusable. Will report it :)

If you haven't joined the public beta yet: don't

it's still pretty rough. alot of apps don't work correctly (or at all)
This should be the mindset of almost anybody except a few. But, people are getting bored nowadays real quick. So this mindset has been rendered a bit obsolete.

But doesn’t downloading the beta because we are bored meaning we will get bored with iOS 13 sooner than if we had waited until September or whenever normal release is? It’s a cycle. People just need to be more patient.

Just finished installing PB2 on my 2018 iPP. PB1 was overall pretty stable for me. Definitely some defects with home screen widgets and notification issues and the random freeze or glitch but overall very useable. After installing PB2 the home screen widgets are working fine so far and the notification issues are gone. Also very welcome change in allowing the mouse pointer to be made smaller and disappear after x seconds. So I'm happy.
Adding mouse support to the iPad is a game changer for me. Yesterday on the plane I used my iPad as a tablet to surf the web, play some games, read kindle. When I was ready to get some work done I was able to turn on the mouse and quickly go through my inbox as I would on my laptop.
Now I need to test if you can pair Apple Magic Mouse 2 with PB2 - you couldn't with PB1 or DEV3.

Here’s to hoping for better battery life. I use my 2018 iPad Pro as my main device. Public Bata 1 really messed with my battery life. But hey, I knew it was a bata when I loaded it.

Im still having a a few home screen widget issues. For example, the reminders app still says unable to load.

Well here I am updating thinking how lucky I am that I have never had an issue. Now for some reason iOS13 is making my phone resync to my watch. I just had to go through the Apple Watch tutorial and it is syncing sloooooowwww. I might be screwed.

the share sheet but seems to be fixed - used to take an extremely long time for it to show up - and sometimes only offered a blank sheet.

AirPrint works just fine for me.

While the beta's roughness is well noted, and it is rougher than iOS 12 beta (which was easily the most stable iOS beta by far), I think it's overstated. It's far more usable than many past iOS betas.

I’m on the beta and I’ve had no real serious issues. I can’t seem to use chromecast or Spotify connect, but that’s not a deal breaker for me as long as it’s short term. Otherwise, I do see a lot of graphical glitches, but they’re a non-issue. Dark mode is worth it for me. Calls, texts, data connection, apps, have all been totally stable for me.

I've found the overall system to be much more stable in 17A5522f, but Safari in particular to be much flakier.

PB1 on my XR and 2017 iPad Pro 12.9 was super solid. I'm surprised to read all these issues. No app compatibility issues for me. The Score app crashes sometimes on iPhone, and battery life is a little worse than iOS12, but that's to be expected from a beta. Installed PB2 on my XR and it all seems good. I'm updating my iPad when I get home.

PB1 was solid for me other than Sonos app running in the background all the time. I filled out a bug report with them and just remembered to close the app when I was finished with it.

This release really killed many issues on my IPad 11 - YouTube hanging, airplay dropping, slow Bluetooth connection and my banking apps are finally working

Maybe you can clarify. Works great on my iPhone. Only minor issues so far. Like swiping in mail is too fast. Wells Fargo had trouble with Face ID last week, now it is fixed. ( interesting because a local small Hawai’i bank worked just fine)

So all in all 0 problems to report. Not “rough” at all

Cannot confirm. It's beta, but it's definitely usable.
So far. But new bugs can come in at any time, and nobody can predict what specific combo of hardware and software can set them off.

Install it on a spare iOS device if you have one, but putting it on your main daily device is just asking for it.

Sure seems like a tiny update at least on Xs
as it should be. It’s beta testing

What we get is early access and an app that lets us make recommendations, not just file bugs. For instance, I mentioned that the widgets only appearing in landscape is an unfortunate design limitation, and they should try to find a way for them to be more present in portrait mode. I don’t expect that to be fixed for iOS 13, but it’s not a bad way to make your voice heard.
