As I haven’t seen anyone mention it (maybe they have) the issues with Mail ‘seem’ to be resolved for me on my XS. Snappy, no waiting times after opening a mail... much much better.

Working better for me as well but for some reason they've gone back to mis-aligning the bold titles ("Inbox" for example), they are supposed to be aligned with the search bar as in all other apps but for some reason in Mail it's not.

This should be the mindset of almost anybody except a few. But, people are getting bored nowadays real quick. So this mindset has been rendered a bit obsolete.

On the other hand if NOBODY uses it as their daily driver then there is the potential for lots of bugs to sneak through the beta process. I use it on my main device in the hope that the bugs I identify & report will make the GM as stable and bug free as possible.

Not really, it’s yet another underwhelming version with hardly any change. That doesn’t mean it will be stable at launch but it really should be as it’s very evolutionary and not at all revolutionary.

I disagree with this. There are elements where iOS 13 has made some huge improvements. Notably for me; CarPlay.

If you don't use it, then it's worth giving it a shot (if you have the possibility to do so), and comparing the differences between 12 and 13.

CarPlay is the one part that isn't working that great for me. Haven't really had other issues with the beta other than bluetooth is wonky. But CarPlay most of the time won't connect via USB or bluetooth, disconnects, and sometimes reboots my Mazda screen in the middle of using which didn't happen before beta. When it works it's better design tho.

For iPhone maybe, but immense improvements on iPad.

Which is exactly the way I’d choose, phones are phones and they reached peak functionality a few years ago in their current form, barring a few trivialities. The iPad in contrast is ripe for improvements, still is, but iPadOS is progress.

Siri commands work again while activating through AirPods. Liking the update so far. Except it crashed when I was playing Candy Crush. Lol

13 is gunna be a whopper with lots of significant new changes. I pity the folks who download it on day one when it goes live. I'm usually very wary of major updates on day one, but if there was ever a time to wait a while to install a new iOS version, 13 would be a prime candidate.

i ve installed it and its all but a whopper. you cant hardly feel any new features. it just feels a bit more like an real os and not a kiddies playground.
this artificial wooo ios13 is so ridiculous, its a small incremental upgrad, nothing mind blowing at all.

Could someone please post a screenshot of the predictive text bar in the keyboard? It was so small and hard to see in the earlier betas.

CarPlay doesn’t work on Bluetooth. It’s either USB or wireless (done through WiFi, but only available with BMW at this stage I believe).

Perhaps it’s worth switching off your Bluetooth or repairing your device and trying again? Bluetooth enabled on wired CarPlay is just a little pointless....

Hi, are you in PB1 or PB2? The same thing happened to me in my CX5 with PB1.

Indeed, and that is the world we live right now.

The Safari slide over bug appears to be gone in this beta. Would lock up when using any app in combination with Safari prior to this leaving the iPad unusable. Hard reset wouldn’t even work... so that’s good news.

Candy Crush is awesome! Other than that, the PB2 is working OK on my iPad Pro 2018 and iPhone XS. I hope the battery drain is a bit better! I took the risk of running it on my primary devices, and so good so far.

Did anyone have any carplay connection issues w/ the XR on the first beta? My work issued 6s would connect to my 2018 Mazda CX5 first time every time, My personal XR would connect the first time about 25% of the time. The other 75% of the time, the only way i could get it to work was to fully reboot my phone. Im hoping thats fixed in Beta2.

I had to downgrade my XR back to ios12, but i'll give it a shot with beta 2 and see if its any better.

If I let the Music app play the next song automatically on my X, it blasts the volume to 11 for a second and then goes back to the set volume. Really, really annoying (and startling). Bug report has gone unnoticed because it seems to be only my problem. Agh.

If you haven't joined the public beta yet: don't

it's still pretty rough. alot of apps don't work correctly (or at all)

I would say if you don't have an older device or an alternative not to download. I will eventually install on a 2018 12.9 pro but for beta purposes installed both public betas on an older gen 1 12.9 Pro which is already well used with its own battery issues. I have enjoyed trying it though, primarily Files app and love stacked persistent slideovers-I use split screen daily on 2018 Pro.

However it's not as bad as I expected-have crashed twice and frozen maybe less than half a dozen times-mostly doing print screens, full page and PDFs with annotations. Lots to really like about iPad OS but be cautious with early betas.

With a couple months left in the development cycle, it’s way too early at this point to predict how stable the GM release will be. It’s likely that certain features present in the current beta will be pulled for the 13.0 release, if they’re “not ready for prime time”. (They’ll return in a later 13.x beta.)

Also, there’s no reason to think that iOS 13 won’t be just as effective in speeding up older iPhones as iOS 12 was.
iOS 12 beta 1 was rock-solid on my phone. I don’t think it’s far fetched at this point to bet that 13.0 won’t be as stable as 12.0 was, given the state of beta 3. It’s not that specifically the new features of iOS 13 are slow, just using it is sluggish and buggy.

Anyone else with this issue?

I no longer see the button to open a private browsing tab in Safari, nor can delete an item from the browsing history or request the desktop version of a website. A research on google suggests it’s something related to Content restrictions but Web content is set to “Unrestricted access”... i even tried disabling all the restrictions entirely, still cannot open a private browsing tab or do the rest of the things mentioned above.

Experienced this on pb1 and 2, also unrestricted.

lots of issues with the stock email app as well, missing go back indicators and more

The Beta still will not load on my iPad Pro 10.5. looks like it goes through all the phases but ends up staying on a blank screen except for the Apple.
