That's now two dev releases in a row without a public beta. This system still has so many bugs, Windowing doesn't work properly in Word and Excel, Outlook keeps losing Dark mode, Adobe Acrobat crashes every time you touch a pdf. I am getting tired of reporting these bugs to Microsoft, Apple and Adobe without seeing any improvements.
Good news - this beta has fixed the Acrobat Pro crash - now works again!!

Looks like this may have resolved the issues I was having with Screen Mirroring to my Apple TV. It would usually, but not always, show the screen, but the audio has been MIA since DB5 for some reason. Could have been fixed by DB7, the tvOS 14GM, or both, but in any event this really simplifies some of my workflow.

Does spacial audio with AirPods Pro work on Big Sur or just IOS14?

I think spatial audio was sadly only announced for ios devices currently.. which really seems a shame, considering the mac is a better media consumption device..

( no audio switching yet either it seems.. now that it works between phone and ipad it's annoying .. )

I'm so tempted upgrade to Big Sur but don't want to deal with the bugs. We'll probably see this released in October right? But even then, it could still be buggy :(
Overall it's pretty stable. But I've been burned bad on a few bugs this past beta. I have a backup computer, so not a big deal. I wouldn't do it on a primary and only machine.

any one confirm is Adobe Acrobat DC works now?
Ive got multiple PDFs open and have scrolled around, used Tools, and just let them sit and it has not crashed so far. Doing any of those things on previous builds, including just letting it sit there, would crash for me on DB6. YMMV of course. Adobe 20.12.20043.396433

I have been a public beta tester a couple of years now. The latest release of Big Sure has been the most annoying, buggy and overall bad, version of them all! :(

Same here. A decade of Beta Testing and just the occasional glitch here and there. Big Sur Beta 4 (I think) just crushed my 2019 MBP. Cost me a day of trying to get a clean Time Machine Catalina restoration which I finally did after three attempts. Took myself right out of the Beta program and will wait a couple months once Big Sur is officially released prior to upgrading.

Audio switching works for me. I put in a AirPod and I got a message saying it connected, switched to iPad and it connected there.

I know your tongue is in cheek, but this has been beaten to death. The issue was not being 'surprised'. Rather, it was that apps using the new SDK could not even be submitted until the GM was released. Just as important, they had to be built on the corresponding GM Xcode. This gave them just a day to download both, build, test and submit. :)

Not with respect to macOS. :) Yeah, that was pretty naughty of them. If nothing was changed it would be fine, but some devs said the GM did break some stuff. Other than the stock dropping and all of the Apple 1%ers panicking, what would have lead them to believe it was a good idea? There has to be some kind of reasonably good reason. They seem to know how to write software. :)

Any signs at all of Mail.app corruption or data loss? I never did get around to researching enough for an upgrade to Catalina, but didn't feel I was missing much. I really want Big Sur, though, but not if it messes with my 25+ years of meticulously curated mail archives.

Great news! Thank you!!!

Is the misalignment issue still there in the menubar when a checkmark is in the drop down menu?

Pretty sure this is intended behaviour. The text in the drop down aligns perfectly with the menubar in both checkmark and non checkmark instances, which I reckon is intended.

I really want to see Mail get an attachment manager. It’s just nuts how attachments are inline in the messages. And Mail sends images inline instead of as an attachment. Outlook has a bin at the top. It’s superior. Also, Mail’s dark mode works about 70% or the time. It seems arbitrary, but many emails are white. Again; Outlook does this better and has a button to switch between the two modes on the bar.

Also, I want to see Preview beefed up with PDF editing. Acrobat is horrid on the Mac. Preview is fast but it displays PDFs of graphics inaccurately many times. Maybe it’s using an old PDF spec? Update it please.

Finally, I want to see SMB support improved. I’m on a Mac at work on a SMB network with Windows PCs. The Mac has a habit of not releasing files and nobody else can open them unless I log off the network. The files are not open on my Mac, but the Mac is telling everyone else they are. Also, the permissions is a mess. I crwatw a folder on the network but I don’t have permission to rename or delete it seconds later even though I have full read/write permission. Lastly, have Mail have an option to paste network addresses with the Windows path.

Big Sur - Will be labeled as "Big Suck" for all of those who own anything pre 2012!
Ya, I know it's old, but still Rock Solid..
