Not everybody having an iPhone with iOS 13 will upgrade to an iPhone 12
But everybody having an iPhone with iOS 13 will update to iOS 14!

So i'm definitely excited for Big Sur and iOS 14! To be honest, for the first time ever i'm more excited about a MacOS release than an iOS release!

Me too! I'm actually very curious of how the emulator they mentioned back in the reveal regarding iOS/iPadOS apps would work in real life. I just wasn't sure about whether I would still be able to boot an older OS through my external drive once I updated to the Big Sur beta, and therefore decided to put it on hold for now and wait for more information before trying out the MacOS Big Sur beta.

The release of a phone is more exciting.

You do have a point haha. Although I do believe with great hardware, the software also have to keep pace with the hardware upgrades, which to that extent I can't really decide which I'm more excited about tbh. haha~

It could happen in late September. It all depends on how fast they can get the bugs fixed. The more bug reports that are filed the better.

I do believe they would release the iOS 14 GM alongside the the September event though. Which I suppose they'd probably announce the event on the 27th of August the earliest? Just a wild guess so please don't quote me on that. lol

However regarding bug fixes I do find most of the bugs that I would encounter in day-to-day usage is almost gone, and to be very honest, iOS releases and betas after the infamous iOS 7 beta period had been much smoother since. The only thing I'm concerned though, is whether something regarding the iOS is fundamentally impacting existing apps negatively. I'm saying this as there seems to be a compatibility issues with certain apps that was not having any issues a few beta releases before, or at least didn't came to my notice until beta 4 of iOS 14.

That aside, I do feel that the GM is probably imminent though!

Anyone get the Public Beta to show up on their iPad? I don't see it still. I'm on Public Beta 18A53551d

This article is referring to the developer beta. The public beta is still not available for update yet I can confirm as I run the public beta on my work phone (iPhone 7 Plus) and the developer beta on my private device (iPhone X).

Given their quick releases of the public beta in recent updates though, I suspect the public beta could come within 24 to 48 hours or so? Again, just a wild guess, don't quote me on that. lol

There is a screenshot a few postings above showing that there was a public beta. Guess Apple pulled it for now.

As of this writing, I think only iOS 14 B6 is available, NOT iPad OS14 beta 6. MR should make this distinction in their updated title.

This version appears to break Facebook Messenger, or is that just me? Opens and quits instantly. And, no, I didn’t post this for smart arses to tell me I shouldn’t use Facebook anything or that they stopped using it ages ago.

Am running the beta 6 and the messsenger app on version 278.0, and apparently nothing's wrong so far for me.

Hope it helps!

Hopefully fixes WiFi problems and sluggishness. PB5 seemed to collect all WiFi names and not release them. I had a huge list after driving around.

I will tell you what sucks about iOS14 for me. Phone calls, Zoom meetings and the extra steps it takes to mute and unmute via iPhone. In all days past, you could talk on the phone and just touch the screen (when black) and mute or un mute as the phone menu was left on screen. Now, you hit the screen (which seems to go dark fast) and it is the home screen, with the phone icon (green) in the top left corner - you need to push that to get back to the phone menu to mute/unmute. Seems like I am calling out first world problems, but for the life of me clicking 3 times is just a royal pain to get through to accomplish this simple exercise. thanks for listening. Send in a report to apple, doubt they will change it back. Really have no idea why they changed this in the first place....
