Did you figure out how to update your display? I updated to the newest Ventura beta and still not getting the display firmware update in Settings.
It's possible that they keep looking at error reports from Monterey users for a while longer before trying their luck with Ventura beta testers yet...

I presume there are two different update servers for Monterey and Ventura and they just forgot to put the ASD update in the Ventura server or they are working on a more complete firmware update they are just not ready to to release for Ventura.

Just unboxed the first Studio Display this afternoon (on 9 August). In their infinite wisdom, UPS decided that the second Studio Display arrives tomorrow. Supposedly they were both shipped the same day (6 August) from the same location in Tennessee.

I connected to my 14" MBPro Max running Ventura beta 5. There was no way to see the Studio display parameters to upgrade that new display's internal operating system.

Switched to my 2019 Intel 16" MBPro on Monterey. Found the link and checked for updates. After couple of minutes it suggested 15.5 and I clicked install. Downloading and installing took less than five minutes. The Studio is significantly smaller due to the thinner bezels around the screen so the inside fancy box was too small for the old 27" Thunderbolt 2 display. Had to use the outside brown cardboard box for a carrying box to take it to the grandkids along with my 2013 Mac Pro 128GB/2TB system on Monterey.

I plugged in the USB-A plug from my old Bose professional speakers into an Apple USB-C adapter. I plugged the adapter into the `14" MBPro laptop and had good sound. I then put the plug into port on the Studio Display. I could switch between the Bose, laptop and Studio display speakers. When went from Studio from the Bose I could not get sound. here.

So it appears that the Bose sound system and the Label Writer will use their USB-A plugs into the Mac Studio USB-A ports when it gets here.

There are indeed different update catalogs depending on the OS. But it seems the update originally was available for Ventura. My guess is it was explicitly pulled from it because of problem reports.

Interesting so the firmware is ok but running the update under Ventura is a problem. Guess doing it under Monterey was the way to go then. I am surprised it's taking them so long.

1440p is still the most common resolution in the display industry (by a long shot). 4K displays are still too expensive. I don’t think Apple wants to jump on that train.
Is it? I still see 1080 all over the place. It's depressing, really.

I haven’t. Got the new beta too and nothing here either. :(

Just going to submit feedback in the feedback assistant and hope for the best.

My 2021 14” MBPro M1 Max is on MacOS 16.5 beta. I could not see the i formation to upgrade the two new Studio Displays from 15.4 to 15.5. When I substituted my 2019 16” MBPro on MacOS 12.5 the necessary information was available and it took less that ten minutes to connect each monitor and do the upgrade from 15.4 to 15.5. So Ventura is not ready for prime time in all areas.

Thought I would chime in on my experience doing the latest firmware update. I did the update Aug 18th and got a an error. I called Support they had me take the display to my local Apple store. Its now been there over two weeks—theyre saying they are going to replace the logic board and waiting for the part…

Did you get an error message with a URL for restore mode? I've had problems every single time I update it.

Yes, I thought I had taken a picture but it was a triangle with an escalation point and a website. Tech support had run some tests from home but couldn’t fix it and had me go into the store. In the meantime I am using my old thunderbolt display :-(

Yep yep. First time I encountered it after going through several steps support told me to take it to an Apple Store but I was stubborn and kept trying and eventually got it to upgrade. I had the same problem with the two other upgrades. Sounds like I need to get it repaired eventually but I really need it right now. Thank you for the info! I've seen many other posts here and other places of people encountering the same thing.

Considering how new the display is I asked about just getting a whole new display of course they gave me the whole run around about needing to do all the tests and parts first etc etc. But so frustrating to be without new display for so long...

You might check your internet modem and router and all the ethernet cables. I have had momentary power outages that do not bring downtime house and those transients are a real bear to trace.

My Mac Studio Ultra 120GB/8TB SSD arrived this past Thursday(23 August) and my order done on 8 July had shown an 11 October delivery date to the local store. So perhaps the China operations are catching up.

The two Apple Studio displays were transferred from the 16" Intel MBPro to the Mac Studio with no operational issues.

The saga continues. Got a call from my Apple Store yesterday (Saturday) saying they had to order more parts for my display. Going on almost a month without my new monitor...

Ask them to get you a new Studio Display ASAP. Use the excuse you financed it and are paying interest without being able to use the device. Theft of service by a device not working as advertised in the marketing advertising?

Ugh! I know I'm going to need to do this eventually but I can't without my monitor right now. I have too much to do at the moment.

Ahh good idea, I will start by calling Apple first, I dont have the energy to go into the Apple Store and listen to them give me the run around etc...

So I called the Apple Store where my display has been being repaired, asked to speak to a manager and told them the situation. They agreed its taking too long and replaced the display with a brand new one. Only thing I couldn't take it home in the box so had to carry it out the store in my hands. Happy to have it back though. Thanks to everyone for following along.
