We're also beta executives.

I've had issues with screen sharing. I have a Mac Pro and a Retina iMac in the same room at home. From work I can remote into the Mac Pro running 10.11.3 from my iMac running 10.11.3, but I can't get to my Retina iMac running 10.11.4. But I can remote into the Mac Pro and then remote from the Mac Pro to the Retina iMac. Of course daisy chained screen sharing leaves a lot to be desired. I'm thinking it's time to pull my last machine out of the beta program. Early features aren't really worth the bugs.
I have to remember to disable Wi-Fi before connecting the Ethernet adapter, otherwise it will get stuck on Wi-Fi no matter what, until I reboot. If I plug in the Ethernet adapter and then disable Wi-Fi, I just stop having an internet connection. Even though Ethernet is connected, El Capitan won't even bother trying to use it. It just says "Your Mac is not connected to the Internet."
First, open System Preferences and click the App Store icon. About half way down, make sure it says "Your computer is set to receive beta software updates." If it does, click the Show Updates button below that. How do I update? I've been enrolled in the public beta for a while but this update isn't popping up in the App Store Updates section like before? Thanks in advance.
WD MyBookLive has not been happy since El Cap. WD My Cloud seems a bit happier, but not as reliable as before.
Thanks, hope that works. I wish it was automatic. You should define a separate 'Network Location' setting for your wired network and switch to it, when you are connected via Ethernet. A guide on how to do this can be found here: http://www.cultofmac.com/242667/add...witch-among-them-in-the-apple-menu-os-x-tips/
I haven't had a single issue or notice a single bug on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015).
I feel sorry for those who do, but leave me out of it.![]()
Rootless can be disabled, the green button behavior can be changed with the Option key, cut/paste in finder is done with the Option key, you can tell Mail not to download attachments automatically, folders on top is inconsistent for keyboard navigation.
Don't mean to sound like a fanboy, but, your green button, cut/paste and folders on top complaints sound like someone who came straight from Windows and didn't bother learning the OS X shortcuts would complain about.
On an older iMac, early 2009, I have next to no problems on El Cap. Occasionally, as for instance today after 5 days continuously open, waking/sleeping, it woke up this morning with a case of rainbow wheel. Rebooting and signed in, all better. At work, it's even more dramatic. The old iMac, among the first ones eligible, left on 10.6.8 for years, I backed up, then updated to el Cap from the App Store. Works like a new computer. I was worried if the old thing would work. It does, with a new lease on life. It loves Metal.
Does anyone else have a problem with Spotlight? The search results have been awful since I've been on Beta and the last 3 Beta versions won't even pull up an "Application" even thought all categories (with the exception of Bing) have been turned on - also, I used to be able to search Apple mail based on a few keywords from an email and it never finds the results - the search was amazing about a year ago.
Apple, spotlight is one of the most important features which I used to use on a daily bases at work. Please make it Amazing again. As a beta tester, I have sent in Feedback.
Don't mean to sound like a fanboy,
You are ASSuming that Apple HAS a QA department....
They don't...it died when Jobs did.
New people run the show. You ask that question to Apple now and they will say, "what does QA stand for?...that sounds to harsh and will offend someone...
There is no one left at Apple that will yell at you and say, "That sucks you idiot, go back and do it right..!"
The New Apple is more concerning with political agendas and political correctness. More concerned with not hurting anyone's "feelings" now..." happy" people now run the show... No aggressive A types.
And is why they are working hard at wrist bands and play toys instead of grown up things like an OS working.
That's because is now run by liberals who just do things to make people "feel better" because it's the thought that counts. Welcome to the FRAGMENTED STATES of AMERICA.
Yea I said it, it had to be said. Queue the complaints because I offended someone...
Mr. Orlandoech, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
It took Apple 30 years to pull it's head out of it's ass and sell a two-button mouse.
Have you tried turning off Wi-Fi? Or are you saying that El Captian is turning Wi-Fi back on?I've had quite a few but my usage is probably unusual. I'm using an Ethernet adapter with a switch and El Capitan constantly switches me back to Wi-Fi. Only a restart fixes it. Safari also screws up occasionally when you have multiple tabs/windows open.

Lol, pretty aggressive. Has anyone actually switched to the Notes app from Evernote?
Yeah, but there’s a two-button software option:The Magic Mouse only has one button

As usual, Apple needs to do the following:
- Get rid of root as Apple's effectively given 3rd party developers the finger
- Put in the option to change the green button's behaviour (full screen on a large desktop screen is completely redundant)
- Add option in keyboard commands to have cmd+x and cmd+v act as cut/paste for MOVING files in the Finder
- Fix the way attachments are handled in Mail (christ, a 600 billion dollar company should get this right the first time)
- Add option of folders on top in the Finder
Excellent ideas. The full-screen is such a pain on desktop OS X compared with Windows (especially with all its snapping abilities). Window management in general seems to be much better in Windows 10 than OS X.
Folders are part of the structure and should always come at the top -- at the very least you should be able to enable this.
Since El Capitan finally turned my mac into garbage, e.g. buggy Finder + my accounts (xcode, itunes, appstore) can't login (stuck in endless loop), all i have to say about this OSX update is:

Yup. And the best part is, all of the demands are options (except for root). So nobody would feel forced out of options... you know, like many of us have already been with El Capitan's root and other issues.
Yeah, but there’s a two-button software option:
Updated my Macbook Air. For some reason the update is not shown in the App Store Updates section 'Updates installed in the last 30 days'. Bit strange but not a big deal. Next beta update will arrive in 2 weeks![]()
