lol, they *still* haven't fixed this extremely visible bug. I guess everyone at Apple uses the transparency.

I predict another GM candidate on Monday.

One more on Monday, then the final version (GM?) on Thursday. Then wait about two weeks to update *cough iOS 8.0.1-gate cough*

Logic pro on Yosemite

Can anyone tell me how stable Logic pro 9.1.8 is? I'm eager to install it as soon as it's made available to the public. Thanks

Try searching something on the updated Safari, do you see transparency in the search results it gives you? Very annoying.

They wouldn't release another candidate just to fix a UI bug. I don't think at this point they are busy with UI bugs, they are more likely ironing out more serious bugs so they can push it out ASAP. UI bugs are the most harmless ones, they can always be fixed later.

And Apple isn't as perfectionist as they once were about the UI. OS X has tons of UI bugs.

I pray to god this one fixes what the 2nd GM did to my 2012 Retina Pro... it completely F?!$*D my Finder: any new finder window fails to display any contents. Re-opening it MIGHT yield folders, but in place of where you'd see the title of the folder, I'd just get black rectangles akin to censor bars on oldschool tv programming.

That sounds like what's happened to my rMBP too. Generally seems to happen if the window is being opened by another app, such as an unarchiver.

Well, the candidate would also contain whatever bugs they catch in the meantime, obviously. Also, this one is so visible, it would look really sloppy if they release it like this. I don't know any UI bugs that are this obvious. Not to mention it was fine before the GMs, it's probably an easy fix.

These aren't GM's. They are GM Candidates. Don't know why this is so hard for some people to understand.

Yeah, but being a GM candidate is supposed to mean being so good, there's no apparent need for further fixes. Making two GM candidates in two days implies that the GM candidates are being far too hastily approved. They started making GMC 2 days ago, and since then have decided they've so thoroughly tested it that they can release it as a GMC. It seems to me there's lots of bugs that take several days to become apparent, particularly when you have so few eyes on it.

Not really. GM is just what becomes the public release. They will release the GM with known bugs since they won't have time to fix all of them. GM does not mean a bug free release.

Using Beta Preview 5 from the other day - anyone else experiencing problems accessing Time Machine? That is I can't seem to access individual back-ups in order retrieve one file. Instead, it says 'Waiting' indefinitely...

It seems to me what's happening is that they had a GM that they felt they could have released, with a locked down of release of (probably) the 16th. But instead of launching right into 10.10.1 development, they decided to find as many bugs as they can before the release. Note that this build is just two newer than the old one. I think they are (finally) taking advantage of the fact that they don't have to send the GM away for manufacturing.

There's no such thing as GM with no apparent need for fixes, there are always fixes to be made.

What's wrong with this? Now it looks like on iOS.

But there is a glitch on the Time Machine screen.

That is not what GM means. There is no such thing as a OS that has no apparent need for further fixes after it has been released.
