Yeah, but being a GM candidate is supposed to mean being so good, there's no apparent need for further fixes. Making two GM candidates in two days implies that the GM candidates are being far too hastily approved. They started making GMC 2 days ago, and since then have decided they've so thoroughly tested it that they can release it as a GMC.

No, a Golden Master Candidate is simply that. It's a build that can potentially be the Golden Master which is released to the public. Think of GM Candidates as the final testing phase, like a last look-over before you turn in a paper or launch a web site. Sometimes you catch last-minute bugs, and sometimes everything looks great. In this case, I imagine they are being extra vigilant after the recent high-profile bugs.

I pray to god this one fixes what the 2nd GM did to my 2012 Retina Pro... it completely F?!$*D my Finder: any new finder window fails to display any contents. Re-opening it MIGHT yield folders, but in place of where you'd see the title of the folder, I'd just get black rectangles akin to censor bars on oldschool tv programming.

I'm not seeing anything like that on my '12 rMBP. You might need to do a clean install if you haven't done that.

Might be a coincidence but WiFi seems a hell of a lot more responsive for me.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's one of the bug fixes in the last two GM builds. Networking is the most unstable area for both Yosemite and iOS 8 right now, so much problems.

Mavericks runs way.. WAY better compared to yosemite. I Also got almost double the battery life on Mavericks...

yosemite is being finalized tomorrow according to 9to5 mac. this is probably the last build before release.

Check in your Activity Monitor to see what's eating up your CPU when idling.

For me, it is WindowsServer. It calms down when you have transparency turned off.

When I worked at this little software company in Redmond, "gold master" meant something different. Testing wad done and the GM was the actual imagine that wad going to be replicated a gazillion times. Of course that lets you know how long ago that was.

He already mentioned it is an issue with transparency turned off. You have it turned on.

Check "Reduce Transparency" in System Prefs > Accessibility > Display, and you'll then see the bug.

So, don't click "reduce transparency"?

Cant say i have that bug...

Try updating the topic before you post, this has mentioned 2-3 times already. You have to turn off transparency in Sys Pref > Accessibility > Display in order to see this bug.

lol, they *still* haven't fixed this extremely visible bug. I guess everyone at Apple uses the transparency.

I predict another GM candidate on Monday.

I don't have this issue. GM RC3 - 17" 2011 MacBook Pro

Oops---read the reduce transparency option...same issue.
