Anyone noticed iTunes Affiliate Links aren’t working on iOS 12 BETA.

Ok, they work. They send the customer to the App Store. BUT. They don’t record the transaction.

I have AL that work perfectly on pc, mac, iPad, and iPhones running anything other than iOS 12. But on 12 they work, but like I say don’t register on the console..

Anyone able to replicate this??
Yes I know it’s a beta etc.. just a point that’s all.

If You have an iPhone X I highly advise against installing the beta. I have 2 personal friends who have bricked iPhone X’s that are not fixable via the restore to factory settings using recover mode and iTunes on a windows or Mac pc. And if you brick your phone apple will not replace it... you will be required to pay for an OOW full unit replacement. The beta terms of use state that apple is not responsible for any issues caused by using beta and your agree indicates that you run the beta aware of the possibility that it could cause software or hardware issues and that using the beta is a choice made and doing so is at your own peril

With all due respect, I am not buying into this. I have participated in a number of PB programs and having followed all the instructions I've never had any issues such as bricking my iOS and macOS devices. Anyone who is interested in signing up for the PUBLIC beta program is more than welcome to do so and give Apple feedback at their own risk.

However, you did not specify whether your friends tried installing a DEVELOPER beta without proper credentials/profile on their iPhones. They might have downloaded a Developer ipsw from an unauthorized source and bricked their devices. They might have downloaded a Public Beta ipsw and manually tried to install it from scratch instead of following the instructions. We never know.

Cheers.

Right.... Don't believe you AT ALL, peddle something else bud.

I find it odd how different phones have different problems.

So it seems to impact people differently. Could issues change based on phone model (7, 8, Plus models, X?) or carrier (Sprint, AT&T, etc)?

Yes, probably. I have read through the thread and not found the bugs I’ve had (and reported via Feedback Assistant) on iPhone 6+. New SMS/iMessage messages showing in Notification but not in the app (have to force close app and open again) in PB 2 and 3. Apps crashing more often in PB 3. Long touch in text, to move marker to specific place with zoom, removes the keyboard and I can’t type or edit anymore. Memory issues (could be app specific) making it slower after longer use. Turning on 4G calls breaks Feedback Assistant uploads - yepp! And various Safari bugs.

That being said: It is still the most stable new iOS I’ve used so far!

Attaching photos in Messages has been made more annoying. It’s now buried in the “Messsages Apps” drawer thing which I can’t stand. Adds two steps to something that used to be pretty straightforward. And the App Drawer (which I never use and can’t be turned off) re-enables every time for every conversation. Annoying!

Have been pretty vocal on the feedback app.

Apps do not update for me now. I did a wipe and restore from iCloud, and still cannot update any apps from app store. Did not happen for me in PB 2 or PB 1.

yes, i reported this to Feedback Assistant.

Agreed... I couldn’t resist it in the end and installed the public beta. I guess you could say it’s ios 11 as it should’ve been.

Apart from one thing...

I really hate the app drawer and the idea of iMessage apps and Apple constantly pushing it as a platform.

It’s a real Microsoft thing to do.

Apple - some of us just want to message people and share a few photos with them and nothing more.

Please let us do that without having to sacrifice screen estate to have the app drawer open.

Tempted to try it, but iOS 11 is perfect right now. No reason to screw that up.
Which iOS are you on

Downloading now. iOS 12 Public Beta 2 has been extremely stable on my iPhone 7 Plus. I have to hand it to Apple. A much better release thus far. Haven’t downloaded yet on my iPP but curious to see how the new gestures work out. Looking forward to upgrading to this years iPhone X 5.8 successor.
How’s your battery life

Battery life is the same as it was on iOS 11.4. I have virtually zero complaints with iOS 12 Beta 3. It has minor twitches here and there, but nothing to write home about. The only thing I wish they would have done was added Dark Mode to it. I understand why they haven’t yet.

This is the new behaviour. You only get a Bluetooth icon appearing when your device is actually connected to a Bluetooth device. It does not show if Bluetooth is simply enabled but without a connection.

That's a negative. I tested it this morning in my car. There's still no B.

I’m sorry, I don’t have CarPlay, but the way I described it is how it works for me.

I use a Bluetooth Plantronics earpiece and a set of Bosé QC 35’s.

No icon appears until either have connected then it shows with a little battery level indicator showing the level of my headphones battery.

I don't have CarPlay either. I'm using the bluetooth for the phone and sometimes for music. And no B icon.:(

I’m sorry it’s not working for you. I don’t have an answer.

Weird that it works for me on both my iPP and iPhone 7 Plus. Both running iOS 12 GM.
