Apple Releases tvOS 13 With Multi User Support, Control Center, Ocean Screensavers and More

It only stores 3-4 screensaver videos at a time to save space.

Are you just guessing or do you have some technical knowledge from somewhere? And what do you mean by it only stores 3-4 of them -- on TvOS 12.4.1, I had easily over 20 of them (don't quote me on the number, but it was a lot). It only stores 3-4 of them when?

I updated and now I have 8 of them. So it stored 8 of them, not 3-4. (And i have the 32Gb model)

Anyone on the (public) beta having trouble getting the update to appear? I’m on 17J5584a (GM beta I believe) and it keeps saying I’m already up to date. :/

I was in the same boat. On the last beta of tvOS 13, build 17J5584a. AppleTV said I was up to date and wasn't downloading today's release (build 17j586.) So I removedthe beta profile (it's under Settings -> General) and rebooted, then went to check for updates, and sure enough, now I am downloading and installing 17j586.

Tried to add another profile, however, wanted to add across all devices. I believe the instructions state to use the Home App to add a profile.

Do we have to wait for the home app to be updated? I can't locate any details on adding a provide via the home app.

I’ve been trying to get off the Beta for some time now. Apple says it’s under Settings > System > Software Updates > Get Beta Updates but that option has been missing for me since the first 13 beta. Did they move it? I don’t see anything under Settings > General either.

Just updated one of my ATVs and encountered the first UI annoyance already: in the previous version, the "top shelf" of the TV app on the home screen would show the first few entries of may watch list. Now it shows some random movie poster fullscreen in the background (essentially an ad), so I can no longer directly jump to an item on the watchlist. Is there any way to configure this? Not a fan of the new home screen so far.

not loving how Apple implemented profile switching. It seems they are forcing you to use the TV App. If you are on the home screen or even in the settings app, the profile does not change until you open the TV App.

They really need to implement profile switching the moment Apple TV turns on.

Okay, I'm a little new to this tvOS 13 thing with multi user support, but are you not able to add a profile just to the AppleTV without first creating a new Apple account with email address?

Anyone else seeing a problem with Apple Music?

Updated from tvOS 12 to 13. Going into the music app and all of my iTunes purchases are showing, just no playlists or Apple Music content (nothing under artists, albums etc. Searching for anything on Apple Music fails and just gives me my historic iTunes purchases.

Signed out and back in. Same. Did a full reset and set up again from scratch. Same result.

If I go into Settings > Users and Accounts > my Account > Subscriptions > Apple Music membership I can see my Family Membership there under ‘your subscription’. AM is working fine on my phone, iPad, Sonos and HomePod. Just nothing on the ATV and no obvious means of re-enabling it.

Multiple user switching seems like a mess to me.

I have 2 accounts, one for iCloud and another one for the Store. There is no way to merge them and the Apple TV wants to create 2 users for me. Will be deleting it.

I have no aquatic screen saver and I’m on the latest release. Everything else is okay. Because I don’t have the 4K tv or maybe it downloads in background and shows up later?

This happened to me as well. Just had to delete the iCloud one and leave the one with the Store Apple ID set properly. The only downside is, is that the profile pic is just my initials. There appears to be no way to set your profile pic unless I set up an iOS device with my iTunes Store account AS my iCloud account temporarily. Too much hassle.

Once and for all, Apple, please let us just merge Apple ID's....I'm forever cursed with my long history of purchases under an old Apple ID, and a newer separate iCloud ID for everything else.

And neat! Sounds like my Pro 11 purchase qualifies me for a free year of TV+.
Regardless, such a brilliant - if not odd - move from Apple. Brilliant tin that they'll have HIUGE user-base that will qualify and have a full year to integrate TV+ into their ecosystem - with a high likelihood the majority of those same free trial users will continue with the $5/monthly next year. And odd in that I can't recall Apple being so aggressive with a service offering.

I really wish Apple would let us pick and choose (up to ten?) Aerials screensavers to cycle, rather than get completely random ones, often times overwriting one's favorites.

The tvOS 13 update brings an updated Home screen aimed at making it easier to discover new content.

I am betting it won't be easier. Like I purchased something on the iTunes store, and now have a fishing expedition to find it (because I am a competent adult, I can use a list, I don't need the "joy of discovery" with every task!)

Their similar claim on the new iOS photos organization (like I took a photo 10 seconds ago, just let me see it like in the old photos->all photos list, I don't need some other organization scheme...
