I don't see an issue with the keyboard personally. I think you should do your research next time before purchasing and getting your stress levels and blood pressure increased.

I pre-ordered before the reviews came out, and Apple locked my order so I couldn't cancel after they did.

Thanks, I did think of that and turn it off but the same issue still there.

Do you have QOS turned on for streaming video? My router was automatically set with it on and anytime my wife was using the Apple TV my laptop could barely connect.

This is the type of update that one wouldn't expect from a polished product. Why release new hardware and software if a stability and general improvement update was just around the corner. I don't like this general attitude of release it now, fix and improve it later.

Do you realize how much time leads up to a product release, especially hardware? Do you also realize that many companies other than Apple wouldn't even consider these bugs worth patching or would take much longer to do so?

Please tell me Apple corrected the stupid error of not making the movie trailers app accessible outside of the US.

Hope it fixes the movie streaming bug for Home Sharing. It pauses the movie every couple of minutes. Man I hope that's fixed!

I just watched a movie last night via Home Sharing from a Windows 10 PC running iTunes to the ATV4, no problems at all. The movie was a Blu-ray backup encoded using Handbrake and the AppleTV3 profile.

How dare Apple stop supporting 5 year old hardware with the latest and greatest features!

I think they need to step back with the next OS X release and ensure it works on the AppleII while we are at it.
I think it's fairly reasonable to expect support for an updated UI for the ATV3 since it's still being sold right beside the ATV4.

You should have saved that exclamation point for a better quote; one more deserving of an exclamatory. The poster clearly stated: "While I know most of the "new" stuff won't be available (emphasis mine), it will be nice to get the updated UI and some of the other features like better Netflix support?" As I said prior, I think that is an entirely reasonable expectation. Apple has a history of supporting products for years. Look at iPhones and iPads.

Unlikely. Business move to push people to ATV4.

That is really ridiculous than why is the stupid Beats App on ATV3 still and why was it never replaced it just makes no sense at all. Apple knows they can add it and yet they sell ATV3 for $69 so why bother selling something that is no longer getting any attention. Because of all this changes I have to update my iMac also since most of my hardware is out dated such as my Bluetooth where I can not do hands off or my USB will not be able to charge the new Magic Mouse. I sometimes wish Apple devices could be like other PCs where they last more than just 3-4 years.

Apple today released the first update to tvOS, the new operating system that runs on the fourth-generation Apple TV. tvOS 9.0.1 is a minor update that likely includes bug fixes and performance updates to address issues discovered since the launch of tvOS on October 30.

The new 9.0.1 update can be downloaded over-the-air through the Settings app on the Apple TV by going to System --> Software Update.

Apple has not provided release notes for the tvOS 9.0.1 update, so the exact details on what's new are not yet known. Any discoveries we make will be added to this post.

tvOS 9.0.1 comes as Apple is testing the first major update to the operating system, tvOS 9.1. Apple has thus far seeded one beta of tvOS 9.1 to developers, with release notes for that beta pointing towards improvements to networking and scrolling. tvOS 9.1 also appears to include support for Siri search for Apple Music.

I'm disappointed with this new version of the Apple TV. My old Apple TV gave me access to all the photos I had organized and stored in both iPhoto AND Photos. The new Apple TV does not provide for this. All you have access to is the "Shared Folder"....which sucks.

They keep the ATV3 around at a lower price point for people who just want to stream Netflix and use Airplay and such. I still have an ATV2 that works without issue. I am assuming your ATV3 is broken at this point?

Not sure if you are being sarcastic but if they are still selling the device than they must be supporting the device with updates or what would be the point to buy a device that will no longer be supported and why would Apple still sell it, of course a lot of things are working on ATV3 but soon it will be crippled since the move from iOS for ATVs to tvOS. Soon Netflix, HULU and other apps would probably also stop supporting it and just stick to updating ATV4 which also piss a lot of people.

There is many reasons a lot of people have not moved to ATV4 which you read all the complains on the ATV board on Macrumors.

Broken in the sense when going to Music my albums I purchased they all do not show up or Albums still show up incorrectly. Yes I did have iTunes Match or now known as iTunes Cloud but once I got Apple Music which supports iTunes Cloud does not work with the Music App in ATV3. So if there is a issue between Apple Music and ATV3 Music App than there should be update to fix this.

This comment makes me want to return my iPhone and trade it in for an UN--UPDATEABLE Android L O L..

What in hell are you talking about? Dude take a look at this. Apparently you'd rather live in this world. Go right ahead and keep criticizing Apple for "unpolished" product... The chart below is a stunning indictment of what happens to its competitors "polished" products L O ***** L.

What the hell are you posting? Dude take a look at your own post. At some point it will dawn on you that posting Android adoption stats fails, spectacularly I might add, to address anything in the post you replied to. The "logic" used to conflate OS adoption rates and unpolished products is truly, as you so aptly put it, L O ***** L.

I have iTunes match and from what I saw this past weekend, it still worked as it did originally. Even after I upgraded to Apple music. I don't know, maybe I am spoiled, but I don't see the big deal in spending an extra $50 than you did on the ATV3 to update to the ATV4. Maybe the hardware isn't cut out for the features of the ATV4, including Apple Music (I never used the Beats app so I could be wrong). I guess I just see it as time moves on, technology and products improve, and if you want the latest features and services (Apple Music), you should move on to the newest box. I guess for now you could just use Airplay for music?

The Good: only took a few minutes to update.
The Bad: Looks like this update does nothing to address the horrible on screen keyboard, not being about to connect bluetooth keyboards, and not updating it to work with the iOS Remote App.

Decided that I'll take mine back this weekend if they don't "fix" the keyboard issue by then. Don't want to fall into the issue I did with my Apple Watch in waiting for fixes and improvements that never came and being outside of the return window.
Dear diary.

I don't believe so. I use an Airport Extreme and I don't believe seeing this option.

Unfortunately it sounds like the Remote App will never be supported on the new Apple TV which has made me hold off on buying:

Wow it's really amazing that Apple would give the customer the added convenience of being able to control their TV with their newest, exciting product, the Apple Watch, and then take it away months later with no real promise of it returning. Guess I'll be sticking with my old AppleTv. It's become a convenience I now won't live without.
