And how do you know that?People. Apple aren't going to update the Remote app so stop going on about it!
Thanks!!

I hope it fixes slowing down my internet connection. Very weird, once I turn ATV off, my connection to all my devices and Mac go back to normal speeds.
How dare Apple stop supporting 5 year old hardware with the latest and greatest features!
I think they need to step back with the next OS X release and ensure it works on the AppleII while we are at it.
Nope, it's not a dream, it does happen indeed. At first I thought was my IP but then I decided to turn ATV off and everything was fine. I tried three times with same results. I just update ATV but I have not tried yet.I didn't know if I'm imagining things but I feel like I have a similar issue!
This is the type of update that one wouldn't expect from a polished product. Why release new hardware and software if a stability and general improvement update was just around the corner. I don't like this general attitude of release it now, fix and improve it later.
You're not a developer, are you? There's no way they could catch all the bugs, even if they extended the Apple TV release another five years.
Will there ever be another OS update for the 3rd Gen AppleTV? Or 2nd??
I just watched a movie last night via Home Sharing from a Windows 10 PC running iTunes to the ATV4, no problems at all. The movie was a Blu-ray backup encoded using Handbrake and the AppleTV3 profile.
sounds more like a bandwidth issue. I don't have this problem unless my local network is really saturated or wifi connection is horrible.

Just updated mine. And the interface is definitely much faster.
Does the Remote App work now?
Your response to this post makes absolutely no sense. And I am a developer too. They have 80,000 beta testers at their disposal called employees. They could be doing a much better job. And I am a developer.
Any idea if "tvOS" will come to the 3rd gen Apple TV? While I know most of the "new" stuff won't be available, it will be nice to get the updated UI and some of the other features like better Netflix support?
Or is Apple continuing the trend of fragmenting their product lineup with 16 different OS variations and crippling old products forcing you to need to upgrade?
I don't think tvOS 9.0.1 is that close. tvOS 9.0 isn't what we got now that they are in stores, it was what Apple installed on the assembly lines before they started shipping. I saw hands-on articles back in mid-October so I guess tvOS 9 was pretty much done sometime at least around a month ago, and that this is the kind of time they need because they can't do last minute changes for the risk of introducing issues from poor QA. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to start locking down the OS even two months ago from today, and like all companies, had a long list of known bugs to fix. As usual, the question is when to draw the line, when bugs are minor enough to be fixed later. With tvOS 9.0.1, they also have a list of known bugs, and they are already working on them. It's just how it works. This is the type of update that one wouldn't expect from a polished product. Why release new hardware and software if a stability and general improvement update was just around the corner. I don't like this general attitude of release it now, fix and improve it later.
THIS!!!!! Except just waking up me...Turning my TV and receiver on in the middle of the night, filling my bedroom with the glow of aerial video screensaver and waking up the entire household?
Thank you for your kind words. I did say it's probably just bug fixes, but am curious if there's anything else. I probably could've worded it a bit better, but no need to go on the attack my friend.I LOVE this post. It´s like: this update probably updates something. But maybe not. Huh. Hmm. hmmmm.
There is a touch-pad on the remote. C'mon people, the best entry-method is right there! Let people draw letters using their finger on the touchpad area as input.
Me, too. It won't stay asleep for more than 10 minutes. Have to keep the new Apple TV unplugged until I want to use it. That's cool, right?Turning my TV and receiver on in the middle of the night, filling my bedroom with the glow of aerial video screensaver and waking up the entire household?
I agree the new keyboard is a pain to use - but I don't think bluetooth keyboards or remote app are the way to go.

This was happening to me too. A fix was to quit all the running apps. Extremely annoying.Me, too. It won't stay asleep for more than 10 minutes. Have to keep the new Apple TV unplugged until I want to use it. That's cool, right?
LOL. We had that already and it sucked. Look up Graffiti form PalmOS. It was OK but not great at all. I know because I lived it.
