Worth the cost? Consideringrg it for my 44 SS. I’ve already spent this much...

I got it for my 40mm. I think it is worth the cost at least for what I wanted it for, a charger on my nightstand where I could place the watch in nightstand mode. There are certainly less expensive options though.

Would be good if it charges AirPods 2: One place to charge all your wearables.

Also, I have the old version from a few years back and it charges my S4 just fine. No problems in the last month or so.

There are no design tweaks to the dock, which suggests that the new model includes unspecified internal updates. It is not known why Apple has introduced a revamped version, but the changes are likely to be minor.

I have like $5 one I got from Amazon, where you insert the cord. It’s black and you can see the cord running along the side. I have it hidden with black gaffers tape. Looks like trash. I ordered the Apple one.

Question re: nightstand mode. Is it supposed to be always on, so I can look over and get the time? If not, what’s the point?

Might be a dumb question. I’ve had an Apple Watch since launch day of first gen and I’ve never been able to figure this out

Cant wait to upgrade

Wait . . . this truly is not an upgrade at all. Why? If you examine the various images in the Mac Store, you will see that it's merely "dressing" for the original charger. If the "airpower" does come into existence, this is NOT a precursor with "airpower" technology. Ultimately, it's a waste of $79. Thoughts?

Correct . . . it is simply NOT the "airpower" technology so the concept is ambiguous at best.

Thanks but no thanks Apple, I'm more than happy with my $6 charging dock from Amazon. Just sayin...

Not really a fair price comparison when a $6 charging dock will be missing the part that actually charges the watch.

It comes on when you tap the table that the watch is on. It doesn’t stay on all the time.

I once thought mine was broke but apparently condensation or whatever is on the back of the cermamic of the watch can certainly deter it from working. I'd have to rub it very clean from my oily skin.

I believe it doesn’t use your Apple Watch charger (unlike some other third party watch stands), so the good thing is that it frees up your charger (like when you need to bring it around).

It also runs via a lightning cable, so in a pinch, you can disconnect the stand and charge your iPhone?

It’s a fair comparison. Apple charges what it can get away with which usually bears no relation the the cost of the parts.

Actually I'm surprised Timmy didn't increase the price.
Hey Timmy, why don't you charge $129 for this advanced accessory! Maybe even more! Sky's the limit!
A little patience, Tim will find out about saturated markets soon enough with this class of “innovation”

I never understood the purpose of this dock. It’s basically a $79 pillow for your Apple Watch.
It solves 2 problems - stand for the Apple watch , 2 nightstand mode orientation . It great if you want to use you watch to replace a nightstand alarm clock .

I find that it’s very portable so it comes with me when I travel, and very easy to use over using just a puck cable .

Got my 44mm ss now.
Charged it last night and had no problems. But its better to adjust the angle of the pug a little bit, but it did not stopped charging 100% upright.
