Also, I'm surprised that Apple would use "God" in a commercial. Between that and the Santa ad, I get the sense that some religious people could be put off.

Here in lil' Ol' England (you remember us; that island just of Europe) we still refer to God* And we still celebrate Christmas**!

* Other Deities are available
** Other quasi religious holidays*** are available
*** Holiday... Holy-day... Being truly P.C. shouldn't we say Vacation?

:D

Merry Christmas to one and all

Smartphones are the best thing to happen to traveling since jet airplanes, HOWEVER, Siri is pretty useless, I use it rarely at best.

Its also interesting that they removed the carrier, and it just says 3G. I guess they have Verizon, good luck getting Siri to work over EDGE, it's fickle enough on 3G.

Aside from: "I can only look for maps and businesses in the United States, and when you're using US. English. Sorry about that.", which anyone outside the US gets in response to most queries, I thought I'd give Siri an easy one by asking what the time was - ie. like the vision impaired people I work with might do.

Total failure. If anyone can get it to work, let me know as I'm not sure if it's location specific.

Now that's creepy .. you don't want to have an affair with it.

Are people allowed to be funny anymore, or are they just all called creepy?

I know what you mean everybody seems to be walking around with a stick up their ass. I thought Siri calling me sexy was funny not that I wanna "have an affair with it"!!
People these days....

You can't just say to Siri "remind me to do this again". Cute ads though!

Not exaggerating, at least 10 times a day. Every meeting, text while driving, directions while driving, reminders, alarm etc. are all done by chatting with Siri...

Unfortunately my poor old car is too loud for Siri. We just end up arguing and then I shut her off. (SoundHound works great though).

I have been able to reply to texts while cycling though - way cool the first time I did that!

My feeling and motto has always been,

"Those who buy kindles or Nooks only buy those because they can't afford an iPad."

I'm not saying that iPads are over-priced, although I wish I could afford one. But the market suggests that the popularity is based on people wanting Kindles and Nooks over an iPad. Well... every Kindle/Nook user I've ever talked (except for the ones in denial) would rather have an iPad and not the crappy Kindle/Nook they are currently using and bought it in a crunch.

I personally have used both and the touch screens and capabilities SUCK with a capitol S.&.*.T.

I have a kindle. Way way way better battery life. And the reading experience especially in sunlight is second to none.

Does anyone who has an iPhone 4S even use Siri any more?

I do, except that it is even more limited that the use in USA. It will be great when I can query businesses and other limitations. Be even better when it is voice activated.

Does that work for you? It certainly doesn't work for me ... I get:

"I have no idea what time it is in "my current location". Sorry about that."

Really? A lot of "Rock Stars" playing Bm9 chords? That should sound... uh... jazzy. Anyway... I think it would be a B Minor NINE chord, not NINTH. I don't care personally, but if you are going to try and cater to the "young rock crowd", you should at least say it right.

Worst Apple commercial in history - worse than the Jeff G or Kevin C commercials.

Yep works.

Siri is set to use my location in location services. Speaks the time and shows me my location.

Siri location services don't work in the UK but if I ask what time it is, it uses system time, and if I ask what time it is in Paris it works that out too. Not sure if it works if I say "what time is it, here?"

I'm in the uk. Try it. That's why I replied :)

What time is it please?

I asked Siri how to play those two songs she had no clue I asked for variations of guitar chords tabs songs she was useless notice they don't show Siri finding the music for the boy either false advertisement for ole Siri apple

I'm exactly the same, I'm not sure if it's because I'm using United Kingdom Siri or not. Strange. - Bringing up chords seems to work okay.

But "How do I play London Calling?" - has anybody got that to work?
