Nice. Even the 13" now has discrete graphics. Though they are now using POS Intel integrated GPU's again.

No i5/i7 on the 13"?

No i5/i7 on the 13"? There's a simple explanation: they couldn't get the graphics situation worked out with Intel and they didn't want to "downgrade" to Intel integrated graphics only.

To support this, look at the base model 15". It now has dual graphics whereas the previous model was only integrated.

hmmm... not much different from my $1499 latest 13 inch MBP

Yeah. I really find the Macbook updates to be gradual enough that a 4 or even 5 year timeframe for replacing one is just about right.

Which is why all the recent complaining about people waiting for Macbook updates has amused me. It's not like the iPhone where the next version will get you all kinds of new features. With Macbooks it's just a little faster here a bit quicker there...nice, but nothing worth worrying over too much.

I bought a laptop last year about 3 months before the update. Once the new ones came I looked at them and said "well, that'd have been nice, but it's no big deal." Seriously, it really didn't matter to me.

Where is the new revamp AppleTV i'm waiting since 2008. too long, too long.:(

I can't seem to find benchmarks on the GeForce GT 320M/330M online. It seems these parts are new to the market as well?

Would be interesting to see how well they compare to the 9400M/9600M :)

I love it when Apple gets in the mood to kick total ass for an entire month. iPad wifi release, OS 4 preview, new MBPs, iPad 3G release. They are really on a roll.

Hurrah!

That new i7 17" model. $200 price cut… happy day for someone!

I don't need it, but I want it.

This update is not good enough for me.

I'll wait for WWDC. Hopefully, they will update again in 3 months. I also want to see it ships with iLife 10 and iWork 10.

There probably will be no update at the WWDC, as Apple does not regularly use it for that. And three months between updates is too short, even for Apple.

There is also the possibility, that there will be no iLife/iWork '10 and we will get an '11 version.

Or maybe in August you will se update productivity software.

Suprised to see the new MBP's use Intel HD Graphics and NVIDIA graphics-previously models used 9400/9600 graphics.

I wonder if the chipset is still NVIDIA or a Intel 5-series one in the new models.

Next we'll hopefully see a updated MacBook Air.

Forcing people into 15"

WOW!

13" Macbook Pro BOUGHT!!!

4GB and i5 in a 13" model for 1199? SOLD.

Fantastic update and was more than I was hoping for.

Actually, looks like the 13" are still stuck with C2D. Huh. I think over all the updates are outstanding, but they are sticking it to their biggest sales base, the 13" model, by staying with the C2D. Better graphics and battery, so I might still go with it, but still, not even an i3?

13" = twice as much RAM, better battery, and better graphics for the same price. What's wrong with that?

$1799 WITH 256MB on the video card?!?!?!?! FTW!!!!!!

Come to daddy!!!!

THAT is what I was hoping for.... pro laptop on a KindredMac budget!

Since the MacBook Pro 13" has been changed (better battery life), I guess that means there won't be a 13" MBP with i5 or i7 processor for a while.
